Senior Researcher

Description:

Works with lead scientists in completion of testing, formulation development, data collection and data interpretation. Position is at the Research center of an industry leader in the manufacture of construction materials. Role will include light construction and hands on application of products as well as lab work in a laboratory setting.

• Will be working in the R&D lab supporting research of cement board/specialty board that is used in wet/tile applications.

• Lab work- mix cement formulations, test properties of cement, measure temperature change as it sets, hardness, breaking strength, nail/pull resistance test.

• Will be in the lab making batches, measuring properties, may have to take sample and cut into pieces or make a batch/formulation and pour into a mold to test it when on site.

• Will also travel to their manufacturing sites to help implement product production - typically twice a month for 2 days at a time

Skills & Qualifications:

• BS Chemistry, Material Science or Chemical Engineering and 8-10 years industry experience OR Masters and 5 years of experience

• Previous experience industry and experience in a manufacturing setting/applying the lab process to real life - truly research application

• Ability to run test, tabulate data, analyze trends, and present back. Previous quality control experience is ideal.

• Candidate will have experience with cement, panels, concrete, bricks, some sort of binder material

• 50 lb. lifting requirement.
