The Senior Research Technologist leads, oversees, and independently sets up and performs experiments and procedures in support of laboratory goals and grant commitments (e.g., assays, cell/tissue culture, animal studies, equipment planning and ordering, etc.). Their role contributes to the planning, design and modification of studies and experiments in the research lab setting. They would be expected to collect, enter, summarize, and analyze experimental data that is used for presentations at local, regional, national and international meetings, as well as for manuscripts and grant applications. They are expected to monitor results, report unusual outcomes/errors, and suggest modifications. They would be directly involved in the preparation of manuscripts for publication in peer-reviewed journals and/or in the preparation of grant applications of interest to the laboratory. They may oversee and assist with the training of residents, fellows, and temporary lab personnel in lab techniques, perform safety functions for the laboratory, and ensure the viability of materials, reagents, and specimens. They will also participate and present at research laboratory meetings.

Define procedures, set priorities, manage resources prudently, and maintain the highest possible standards for work quality. Is organized and has a high attention to detail.
Schedule time efficiently, ability to set and meet deadlines, and ability to maintain multiple open projects.
Thinks pro-actively and provides clear verbal and written instruction to lab staff and PI.
Understand and demonstrates safe use and operation of lab equipment.
Understand and is knowledgeable of Nemours safety policies, procedures and performs more advanced safety functions in the lab.

Complete annual Nemours mandatory training as assigned.
Qualifications:
Bachelor of Science required; Master of Science preferred
Minimum of 5 years of significant laboratory experience required
