The research specialist will work with a multi-investigator team of Princeton University politics professors on CSDP's Project on Economic Inequality in America.
The position provides university staff benefits including health insurance, and the opportunity to coauthor. Responsibilities The successful candidate will have excellent statistical skills, good writing skills, experience designing and fielding surveys and experiments, and excellent attention to detail and conscientiousness. At least two years' experience conducting independent, doctoral-level research on individual-level political behavior is preferred.
The candidate should be well organized, flexible, and be able to meet deadlines. Preference will be given to candidates who can be in-residence and working on campus, but a remote work arrangement will be considered, with availability for some meetings in Princeton. This position is a one-year term position, with the possibility of extension for a second year depending on funding and performance.Preferred start date of November 1, 2018, but a somewhat later start may be possible.Qualifications ESSENTIAL QUALIFICATIONS:
Excellent research and writing skills
Proficiency in survey design and analysis of survey data, preferably on individual-level political behavior
Background in quantitative, experimental research and statistical methods
Knowledge of statistical packages including STATA or R *Detail-oriented, flexible, able to meet deadlines EDUCATION REQUIRED:
Completed PhD coursework and masters-level research in political science required. Ph.D. in political science strongly preferred PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
