Senior Research Project Manager
Location: Wilmington, DE, Watertown, MA or Remote
The Senior Research Project Manager is responsible for planning and executing operational aspects of a research project, utilizing the Enterprise Resource Planning system, which may encompass a single complex program or multiple studies/protocols/projects. Responsibilities include:
Develops and monitors project timelines and project budget.
Assign resources and oversee completion of tasks.
Facilitates team coordination and lead project team meetings.
Obtains and negotiates contracts with vendors.
Assists in protocol development and case report forms.
Performs site visits as needed.
Writes policies and procedures that are SOP compliant and manages development of manual of operations.
Performs study drug management and tracking (if required), patient recruitment and retention, as well as interface with multiple contractors, contracts and vendors.
Provides oversight of periodic reporting to regulatory agencies and sponsors.
This position will require experience with larger, more complex studies and the ability to creatively and proactively mitigate risks to study conduct. Senior PMs will also participate in proposal development and the submission of bids to clients and/or government entities. The position may participate in client meetings and bid defense meetings. It is expected that this position will mentor junior project management staff.
Requires a BA/BS in a related field; minimum of 8-10 years clinical research experience or MS/MPH with 6 - 8 years clinical research experience, which at least 4 or more years are spent leading and directing project tasks, or any combination of education and experience, which would provide an equivalent background. Project Management Professional (PMP) certification highly recommended.
Must have high level of working knowledge of GCP, ICH and FDA regulations.
Experience developing and managing the budgets and resources of a project.
Experience with health plan administrative databases (pharmacy and medical claims) preferred.
Very strong organizational skills and a proactive, forward-thinking approach to problem solving and conflict resolution.
Strong ability to create an effective team environment, build strong relationships, solving problems and issues in a matrix environment and communicating (facilitation, presentation, verbal, and written) effectively at all levels of an organization.
Self-directed and resourceful with the ability to work on several assignments simultaneously and thrive in a fast-paced environment of continual change.
Leadership and management skills.
Strategic skills and implementation of ideas to improve processes and gain efficiencies.
Knowledge and application of project management methodologies and tools (e.g., Microsoft Project, project scope, cost, and schedule management, etc.).
