We are currently seeking a highly creative and motivated scientist with a strong scientific background in cancer biology and pharmacology to join our biology team as a Senior Research Investigator to Associate Director. The ideal candidate should have demonstrated expertise in cellular assays and mechanism of action studies. This is a fantastic opportunity with significant growth potential for a detail-oriented, highly creative and productive candidate who is dedicated to science and hands-on research.
The level will be commensurate with the successful candidate's experience. This position is based at our Wilmington, DE site.
Key Job Responsibilities
Develop and optimize cell-based assays to support drug discovery and development
Independently execute experiments, generate and analyze data, and report findings to the project team
Perform routine cell culture, develop and characterize novel cell lines and primary cell systems for pharmacology studies and disease modeling applications
Prepare tissue samples and conduct protein or molecular analyses for pharmacodynamics or mechanism of action studies
Design and execute experiments to characterize compound mode of action and pharmacological activity in cell and animal models using a range of biochemical and cellular techniques
Foster and contribute to a positive and collaborative research environment. Maintain a neat and safe laboratory space, contribute to upkeep of equipment and inventory with other team members
Clearly document research work and communicate results to team members
Collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams to advance drug discovery projects
Qualifications
Ph.D. in cancer biology, pharmacology, cell biology with 0-5 year industry experience in assay development
Strong background in cancer biology, molecular and cellular biology, or pharmacology with extensive hands-on experience in tissue culture, cell analysis, and biochemical techniques including western blotting, RT-PCR, ELISA, FACS, HTRF, ICE/ICW, AlphaLISA, MSD, and other luminescence or fluorescence-based assays
Detail-oriented, highly organized, and capable of maintaining excellent lab records
Entrepreneurial with a can-do attitude, a team player and embraces the opportunities and challenges of start-up culture
Ability to adapt to a fast-paced environment and maintain high productivity
