Senior Research Associate - Protein Purification

Description

Trait Discovery and Optimization team in Biotechnology is looking for a Senior Research Associate to join Insect Control and Herbicide Tolerance Discovery group.

Responsibilities

• What You Will Do:

• Design and execute scientifically-sound experiments towards protein discovery utilizing principles of chromatography and filtration.

• Perform routine tasks of protein extraction from biological samples

• Generate and record data, perform data analysis and author reports.

• Maintain records in Benchling and electronic lab notebook.

• Work in a collaborative team environment to deliver timely results.

Qualifications

What Skills You Need:

• Bachelor's in Chemistry, Biochemistry, Biology, or allied field with 5+ years of relevant experience, or Master's degree

• Prior research and lab experience necessary

• Understand principles of protein biochemistry, chromatography, bioinformatics pertaining to protein identification

• Hands-on experience with protein purification techniques such as anion exchange chromatography, hydrophobic interaction, size exclusion and tangential flow filtration

• Familiarity with AKTA instruments and Unicorn software

• Team player, with demonstrated written and oral scientific communication skills.

• Experience working with plants, bacteria, fungi is a plus
