Position Summary:

FL94 is seeking an ambitious, creative, and talented Sr. Research Associate or Scientist, Discovery Biology to join our research team. You will be part of the team responsible for leveraging our novel platform to develop first-in-class medicines and new chemical modalities. The ideal candidate brings expertise in functional assay development and molecular biology techniques with a passion for discovery and development of small molecule drugs. A background in industrial drug discovery and experience with novel induce proximity modalities is highly valued.

Key Responsibilities:

• Responsible for developing and performing functional assays to enable SAR, MoA studies, target engagement measurement and pathway modulation.

• Analyzing data, maintaining electronic notebooks (ELN) and presenting results for discussion at team meetings

• Evaluating targets identified by our protein editing platform for potential as therapeutic targets.

• Build a robust infrastructure of laboratory protocols, tools, and systems that will scale efficiently.

• Work collaboratively in cross-functional teams with chemistry, proteomics, drug discovery and AI/machine learning

• Ensure rapid and accurate turnaround of data, to agreed timelines, to drive achievement of key project goals.

Qualifications:

• Ph.D. or 5-7 years of industry/academic research experience in the field of oncology, cell biology, molecular biology, immunology, genetics, or related fields

• Sound knowledge of disciplines involved in small molecule drug discovery (assay development, cell-based models, pharmacology, target validation, biomarker discovery)

• Experience in performing high throughput biochemical and cell-based assays to measure target engagement, target inhibition, pathway modulation and cell viability (TR-FRET, NanoBRET, AlphaLISA, CTG, ELISA, etc.)

• Expertise in basic cell & molecular biology techniques- cell culture, molecular cloning, gene KO/KI using CRISPR/CAS9, gene knockdown by siRNA and/or shRNA, over-expression using Lenti viral transduction, WB, RT-qPCR, Immunofluorescence, FACS

• Desire to work within highly skilled teams in a fast-paced, quickly evolving technical environment.

• Competency in using data processing software (Graph Pad Prism, Spotfire, Dotmatics, etc).

• Excellent communication and presentation skills, capable of conveying scientific information in a concise and effective manner.
