Senior Research Analyst

Overview

IDC Asia/Pacific is seeking a highly motivated individual for Senior Market Analyst for Enterprise Computing team, based in Bangalore, India. We are seeking a results oriented individual with 3 to 5 years relevant background in either market research or market intelligence of an IT company, or having worked with IT vendor or channel partner in the area of frontline sales, business development, product marketing or program marketing. The analyst will be responsible for tracking, analyzing and forecasting the relevant market segments across two to three countries on a quarterly basis. He/ she will be conducting primary research with vendors and channel partners in each of the countries, or by partnering and directing research efforts with relevant country analysts in the local IDC office. Over a period of time, the analyst will have the opportunity to develop a good understanding of the emerging products and technologies and their impact on the enterprise computing demand, and grow into an authority on the enterprise computing market in the Asia/Pacific region spanning multiple countries.

Responsibilities

• The analyst will be responsible for tracking, analysing and forecasting the Enterprise Infrastructure (e.g. Server, Storage, Cloud) market segments across two to three countries in the AP region on a quarterly basis. • The analyst should be confident and with pleasant demanour as he/she will be conducting primary research with vendors and channel partners in each of the countries on a quarterly basis. • The analyst will be working closely with the country analysts in the AP region to run quality checks on all deliverables ensuring that the information delivered to clients are accurate, relevant and insightful. • Good interpersonal skills to work closely with internal and external team members and stakeholders in the region that come from a very diverse cultural background. • The analyst will support business development efforts locally and in the region, be present to customers as well as in industry conferences/events, and support during Sales presentations • Responsible for creating templates, managing databases, and also support the regional team to generate client deliverables. • Required to write succinct and concise market insights and reports. • Responsible for managing client and media inquiries around the market segment and countries he/she covers. • Develop a good understanding of the emerging products, technologies, evolving vendor landscape to determine their impact on the overall enterprise infrastructure market.

Qualifications

• 3-5 years job experience in a market research firm, a market intelligence division of an IT company, or those having worked with an IT vendor / channel partner in mainstream sales, product marketing, business development, program marketing, or market intelligence role.

• The candidate should have a minimum college/ university degree

• BA/ BSc equivalent but those with MBA will be preferable.

• Strong quantitative analysis skills, does not necessarily need to have a strong education background/ experience in statistical analysis

• Good English language business writing skills

• Excellent communication skills essential - written and verbal

• Strong interpersonal skills, experience of having worked in a multi-cultural environment will be a key advantage

• Excellent time management skills while at the same time able to effectively multi-task

• Detail oriented, meticulous, perseverant, and passion for excellence

• Highly motivated individual able to work independently, setting work goals and priorities with minimal assistance
