Job Summary:The Reporting & Analytics Senior Analyst is a new role within the operational Energy Efficiency Center of Excellence. This role will have global responsibility for consistent data collection related to Equinix sustainability commitments. He/She collaborates proactively with all relevant departments and sub-departments in the company to define key performance indicators (KPI's) and will collect the data required to report on these agreed KPI's. He/She Identifies gaps in the data provided and will make suggestions for projects to close these gaps. He/She will drive automation of the data collection effort in close cooperation and coordination with existing initiatives, such as DCIM (Data Center Infrastructure Monitoring.) He/She will turn reported data and analytics periodically into valuable insights. He/She will reports frequently on the progress of the EE CoE program.


External Reporting

  • Responsible for working with key customer stakeholders to understand new customer reporting requirements

  • Liaising with technical and back-office teams in order to translate this requirement into actionable datasets

  • Sourcing and extracting information from key systems, analyzing and formatting the resulting data into ordered sets to build comprehensive reports with visualizations and insights that can be used to create customer-facing reports

Internal Reporting

  • Responsible for collecting all data necessary to accurately report defined KPI's such as electricity consumption, PUE, WUE, gas, fuel, chemicals, and others, in support of Equinix local, regional and global objectives

  • Analysis of monthly forecasts and results

  • Creating and presenting experienced visual reporting for the Operations Management team within a diverse scope

  • Design of reports - work with the business and other members of the Operations team to understand reporting needs and design reports to meet such needs for specialized reporting

  • Work collaboratively with the Operations team as well as the wider business to utilize data and insight to resolve business issues and drive better decision making for strategic initiatives

  • Generation and distribution of reports - ensure that reports can be efficiently and flexibly generated, and are shared in the most efficient manner, using the most appropriate available platforms

  • Take part in ad hoc projects as and when required

  • Supporting the Operations department with: Data validation, data mining, and analysis

  • Is experienced in the writing of documentation, instructions, and procedures


  • Bachelors degree preferred or equivalent experience preferred

  • 3 years of experience preferred. 5+ years of experience highly preferred

  • Proven ability to analyze, model and interpret data within a diverse scope Proven advanced skill level using Excel, including nested formulas and macros as a minimum

  • Experienced with database software; R-Programming, Tableau, Python, PowerBI, Rapidminer

  • Has strong accuracy and high attention to detail

  • Strong and positive team player with good interpersonal skills, able to communicate effectively at all levels

  • Acts as a seasoned professional and has a full understanding of reporting specialization

  • Experienced in working with a wide range of stakeholders, both internally and externally

  • Financial and/or technical background is preferred

A day in the life * Assists in all areas of accounting for income taxes and the identification and documentation of Uncertain Tax Matters. * Assists in the training of other tax department staff regarding financial tax reporting and FASB/GAAP/IFRS requirements for tax. Reviews and verifies the monthly/quarterly financial reports for all tax accounts on a consolidated basis. Reviews supporting schedules to be supplied to the independent auditors related to these accounts. * Monitors current federal and state income tax developments and forecasts impact to the company and assists in the strategic implementation of the system changes necessary to accurately reflect the financial and tax filing requirements. * Proactively identifies risks and documents alternative solutions to mitigate the risks for the company.
