As a Senior Reliability Engineer you'll be the focal point of the reliability of military and commercial satellites, custom RF systems and advanced microwave products. You will interface with program managers, design engineers and customers to design in reliability during all phases of a product's lifecycle. This position carries a lot of responsibility, but also a lot of avenues for personal growth and achievement.
5+ years Reliability Engineering experience, preferably in space, aerospace or satcom industry
Familiar with reliability requirements for military space environments, including MIL-PRF-38535, MIL-PRF-38534, MIL-PRF-19500, MIL-PRF-55342 and MIL-PRF-55681
Familiar with ASQ CRE body of knowledge
Familiarity with FMEA, FMECA and FMES
General knowledge of RF, power, and digital electronics; and/or mechanical systems
Ability to lead and function in a fast-paced, highly-visible business area. (managing external customer expectations and information needs of ViaSat executives)
Strong communication and inter-personal skills (ability to influence, lead and coach teams)
Bachelor's Degree in Engineering or allied sciences, Master's Degree preferred.
US citizenship is required.
Experience in space mission assurance
Ability to pass a background check necessary for a security clearance
Familiarity with Physics of Failure practice and theory
Familiarity with reliability prediction methods such as 217FN2, Telcordia SR-332 and 217Plus
Familiarity with software tools for reliability analysis and prediction
Familiarity with reliability testing and Failure Analysis methods
Reliability Block Diagram analysis (RBD) of complex systems
