Senior Reliability Engineer
As a Reliability Engineer you'll identify the proactive maintenance requirements for assets to increase plant productivity, maximize reliability performance in a sustainable way and to capture all opportunities for process improvement while reducing total costs. This will be achieved through criticality study, implementation of an equipment reliability strategy, evaluation of proactive work results, follow up on any failure along with a formal Root Cause Failure Analysis for elimination of the failure.
What you will Do
Establish and maintain processes, procedures, and practices with regard to asset management which support reliability in existing and future equipment:
Manage the process of establishing Asset Criticality and its yearly review
Provide expertise in the benefits of Root Cause Failure Analysis and Reliability Centered Maintenance to create a culture of continuous improvement in asset health
Works with AME's to insure reliability is designed into new equipment
Ensure effective predictive and preventive maintenance functions are implemented, maintained and supported:
Optimize and manage the PdM program in the plant, which includes vibration study, oil study, thermography, airborne ultrasound, and circuit study
Provides equipment troubleshooting support using PdM technologies
Provide technical expertise and training on the use of the predictive technologies, as well as, the predictive strategies which need to be implemented
Steer cost and energy reductions through the plant by utilizing predictive maintenance strategies
Establish the critical equipment and systems that will be monitored on a predictive basis vs those that will use time based PM's or condition based PM's.
Monitors performance of the equipment after predictive technologies are implemented and provides reports and updates, as needed.
Build and support a reliability culture:
Function as a key technical resource for the plant in areas such as predictive technologies, RCFA, data analysis techniques (FMEA, Weibull analysis, etc.)
Works closely with maintenance and operating technicians to improve their knowledge of techniques that could impede equipment reliability
Provides training to continue to build a proactive reliability culture
Performs other job related duties as required:
Follows all applicable standards and work instructions while performing the duties of reliability engineer
Promotes a safe working environment by showing a solid commitment to safety
Follows all safety requirements and wears required PPE
What you need to Succeed
Bachelor's Degree in Engineering or technical field
3+ years' hands on experience in manufacturing equipment or processes, or equivalent education and/or experience
Knowledge of various maintenance and reliability processes including Maintenance planning and scheduling, lubrication management, vibration study, thermal study, root cause failure analysis and FMEA, criticality study, statistical study
Sound communication and organizational skills
Advanced computer skills
Ability to manage a team
Ability to develop and train in reliability topics
5+ years' hands on experience in manufacturing equipment or processes
Proven leadership skills and record of accomplishments showing business impact.
Working conditions are normal for both an office and manufacturing environment.
Work may involve lifting of materials and product up to 30 pounds.
Working in the manufacturing environment requires the use of safety equipment to include but not limited to: safety glasses, hearing protection, gloves, work shoes/boots.
Work may require occasional weekend and/or evening work.
