Leidos is seeking a Senior Release Train Engineer for a large Defense Intelligence program chartered to support the Analysis Orchestration Services in providing governance, integration, deployment, and operations and sustainment of the current suite of services and future integrated capabilities. Our customer provides strategic intelligence, warfighter support, indications and warning, safety of navigation, foundation data, humanitarian and disaster relief, special event planning, and homeland defense.

This position is contingent upon contract award.

The Senior Release Train Engineer will be primarily responsible for the following:

  • Assist the government product owners in maintaining the OrcServ Product Backlog and schedule.

  • Understand the government Product Owner's acceptance criteria, and use the criteria to determine when a backlog item is done.

  • Oversee quality control/quality assurance for the Developer teams.

  • Assist scrum teams in mitigating or removing impediments to their progress.

  • Facilitate team events including Release Planning Events to ensure regular progress.

  • Coordinate the participation of key stakeholders in Scrum process.

  • Coach the Developer teams in self-organization and cross-team integration.

  • Promote consistent design principles, approaches to system design, security, testing, and documentation, across multiple development teams.

  • Briefing customer on development process throughout cycles and on the status of testing, deployment, and release readiness.

  • Leading the teams towards agile maturity.

  • Escalating and tracking impediments.

  • Driving relentless improvement.

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree and 10+ years of experience, or Master's with 6+ years of experience in government Information Technology or a related field.

  • Demonstrated success in the conduct of agile software development for complex information technology systems.

  • Demonstrated success in delivering functional code to the government's satisfaction using agile design and development techniques.

  • Training and/or certification as a Scrum Master by a reputable educational or professional association.

  • In-depth experience working with large software systems including hardware integration and test.

  • Ability to understand technical concepts and communicate them effectively to both technical and non-technical audiences.

  • Ability to manage time extremely well, and quickly sense when an issue needs to be discussed or triaged.

  • Must have strong attention to detail, as focus on task completion is critical.

Security Clearance:

  • An active TS/SCI with Polygraph.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • SAFe Certified Release Train Engineer.

  • Experience working with NGA customer and mission applications.

  • Experience with working in agile software development methodology.

  • Experience briefing leadership and/or customers of key status of project progression.
