Senior Relationship Manager - Eastern Region

Preferred Location: Florida

The Senior Relationship Manager plays a key role at National Life Group (NLG). As a member of Retirement Services, this position is responsible for directing the development and management of 403(b)/457 relationships with school district and government administration, Third-party administrators and field associates within specific areas and regions. The Senior Relationship Manager is required to target school districts and government organizations to increase annualized annuity sales and assist in obtaining new 403(b)/457(b) plans. This position is also responsible for expanding new relationships and building new territories. This role is part of Relationship Management in the Retirement Business division of Distribution.

Key Responsibilities

  • Serves as the primary point of contact for existing National Life Group 403(b)/457(b) Employer Plans

  • Works directly with school districts and government organizations to deepen National Life's relationship while identifying relationships with prospective plans

  • Collaborates with Regional Vice Presidents, sales representatives, senior management, and home office employees, agents and agencies to ensure exceptional participant service is delivered to policyholder.

  • Manages a region which includes overseeing full-service administration, recordkeeping, participant services, and consulting for a case load of 403(b), 457(b) and other defined contribution plans as required.

  • Develops and delivers communications and presentation strategies that successfully deliver information to the intended audience.

  • Develops and maintains strong and productive relationships with key personnel in the Qualified/Non-qualified annuity flow marketplace. Including, but not limited to, plan administrators, employers, school district management, administrative support staff and educational support organizations.

  • Works with team to develop specific marketing strategy that effectively increases market penetration by educating and branding NLG in correlation with specific demographic characteristics.

  • Provides ongoing written and oral communication to the internal and external teams to help ensure management and team have situational awareness.

  • Monitors territory and team progress towards meeting monthly, quarterly, and annual goals and inspire increased production results.

  • Identifies, understands and effectively manages critical relationships within territory.

  • Assists in new relationships with school districts with the objective on opening new access/plans to increase productivity for NLG.

Critical Skills and Experience Requirements

  • 5-10 years of experience, specifically in 403(b)/457(b), annuity, financial services or with employee benefits at a school district or municipality.

  • Prior experience as a school administrator, or 403(b)/457(b) consultant/Third Party Administrator (TPA)/Service Provider

  • Existing relationships with Third Party Administrators, senior school officials, and/or key state officials strongly considered

  • 10 plus years of experience in a client facing roles

  • Relationship management experience strongly desired

  • Bachelor's degree in related field or experience in lieu of degree

  • Series 66 or 6 & 63 preferred or willingness to obtain

  • Deep understanding of market conditions and drivers affecting retirement business

  • Detail Oriented and excellent problem solving skills.

  • Works independently; acts with independence and discretion; seeks guidance when necessary to make best business decision

  • Approach issues in order to evaluate marketing activities and to monitor emerging issues

  • Up to 75% travel

  • Ability to learn National Life Group's products, services, systems, and processes.

  • LOMA or LIMRA certified preferred

  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite

  • Experience with CRM software (e.g. Salesforce)

The base compensation range represents the low and high end of the range for this position. Actual compensation will vary and may be above or below the range based on various factors including but not limited to qualifications, skills, competencies, location, and experience. The range listed is just one component of our total compensation package for employees. Other rewards may include an annual bonus, quarterly bonuses, commissions, and other long-term incentive compensation, depending on the position.
