As a Senior Regulatory Compliance (RC) Engineer, you will be responsible for ensuring compliance of all Belkin products to Global Safety/EMC/EMI/RF regulatory requirements. You must understand World Wide standard requirements relating to Safety/EMC/EMI/R/Energy Efficiency and must be able to guide product design teams on safety, electromagnetic compatibility, interference and RF issues. You will serve in a consultative capacity on Belkin regulatory compliance issues on national and international regulatory requirements. You must think analytically, interact with Engineering (ME and EE), ID (industrial design) PM, PGM, test labs, local regulatory authorities and multi task effectively.
Must be able to read electronic schematics and be familiar with various test equipment including Spectrum Analyzers, LISNs, various antennas, amplifiers and other RF equipment, oscilloscopes, multi-meters, current meters, power supplies, power meter, etc. The RC Engineer must think analytically and perform multiple tasks effectively.
Review designs and predict probable effect of Safety/EMC/EMI/R/Energy Efficiency consequences on the design.
Provide regulatory support and train cross functional team on Safety/EMC/EMI/R/Energy Efficiency subject and participate with cross functional team on product risk assessment evaluation.
Confidently discuss related EU and Global standards that affect all Belkin products with any audience with ease.
Evaluate and interpret EU and Global regulations/standards with the objective of making Belkin products compliant while managing risk with respect to product requirements.
Assist in the development and implementation of policies, procedures and tools relating to Safety/EMC/EMI/RF regulatory requirements.
Provide technical direction and communication across engineering, contracts and ODM, resulting in compliance practices/procedures.
Guide product development teams on Safety/EMC/EMI/R/Energy Efficiency regulatory compliance issues.
Develop methodology and processes for product test plans and ensure effective validation testing for compliance to applicable Safety/EMC/EMI/R/Energy Efficiency regulatory requirements.
Conduct or assist in internal investigations and analysis of any suspected non-compliant product / incident. Define and/or assist in definition of corrective action as necessary.
Guide post- incident investigation and problem resolution, advise corporate on risk exposures, follow up with action plans for related systems when warranted.
Support NPI and Sustaining RC Engineers in certifying new and maintaining current certification status of production product.
Monitor testing at 3rd party test and certification labs if required.
Collect, review and release RC test plans, reports, and certificates.
Ensure suppliers comply with domestic and international RC regulations.
Assist in RC program and product management; track budget, invoices, schedule, etc.
Perform all other duties as assigned and required.
Minimum of 5-6 years of International Regulatory Compliance experience in a testing lab or consumer electronics engineering development environment with focus in Safety/EMC/EMI/R/Energy Efficiency.
Bachelor's degree in Electronics or related field.
Hands on experience in Safety/EMC/EMI/R/Energy Efficiency test setup testing will be plus.
Good understanding of global consumer electronics EMC/EMI/RF standards; such as EN, CISPR, ETSI, etc. is a must and the understanding of (EMC and RED) Directives preferred.
Understanding of EN 55024, EN 55032, EN 300 330, EN 300 328 and EN 301 489 standards is highly desirable.
Understanding of Safety and Energy Efficiency Directives and testing related to Battery Packs, Car Chargers, Surge Protectors and direct plug-in power supply is a must is preferred.
Understanding of IEC 60950-1, IEC 62368, IEC 60884-1, IEC 62133 standards is highly desirable.
Exposure and working knowledge of wireless technologies such as Qi/Wireless charging, Wi-Fi and Bluetooth is a plus.
Understanding of environmental / sustainability requirements such as Prop 65, RoHS, Reach, Energy efficiency etc. is also a plus but not a must.
Candidate must have knowledge of Global certification processes and must be able to interact with local certification Labs.
Work from oral and written instructions, also be able to work independently with minimum supervision.
