DescriptionThe Senior Regulatory Affairs Director will use broad management discretion, direct, oversee and manage complex, regulatory project(s), ensuring quality deliverables on time and within budget. Ensure that all work is completed in accordance with SOPs, policies and practices.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • May act as a global contact and/or lead for a specific customer.

  • May take a proactive role in developing long standing relationships with preferred IQVIA customers and may take a leadership role in bid defense strategy and planning, as appropriate.

  • Ensures compliance of RA processes and prepares for full RA Systems Audits; accountable for any subsequent action plans. Continually looks for process improvements.

  • Competently manages meetings/expectations with Regulatory Agencies and/or groups within IQVIA.

  • May lead major, global cross-functional initiatives, accountable for success.

  • May represent IQVIA by leading a cross-industry workgroup in an area of expertise.

Job Requirements Degree in life science-related discipline or professional equivalent* plus at least 12 years regulatory experience (*or combination of education, training and experience).

  • Extensive experience in regulatory and/or technical writing and/or process management

  • Ability to make difficult judgment calls within sphere of responsibility. Demonstrates advanced negotiating, influencing and motivating skills, with the ability to identify and resolve issues at a senior level within IQVIA and customer organizations

  • Strong software and computer skills, including MS Office applications

  • Acts as a role model for professionalism and a respected ambassador for the Regulatory Business Unit, remaining effective in difficult, stressful and/or highly sensitive situations

  • Ability to accept senior management decisions and deliver positive messages to peers

  • Ability to communicate effectively at all levels in the organization, consistently demonstrating confidence and authority within remit

  • Ability to monitor the market and demonstrate knowledge of competitors and clients

  • Extensive use of telephone and face-to-face communication requiring accurate perception of speech

  • Extensive use of keyboard requiring repetitive motion of fingers

  • Regular sitting for extended periods of time

  • Travel will be required

DescriptionContributes to leadership of global Medical Writing (MW) team. May serve as global head or head of a large region of MW. Ensures that company financial goals are met. Sets the goals and strategic direction of MW. RESPONSIBILITIES * Line manager of staff at Manager level and above. Responsible for performance of MW within a designated region(s), group of sites or defined MW function. * Contributes new ideas/potential strategies for Medical Writing taking into account overall IQVIA strategy/objectives. Actively participates in discussions to decide upon global strategy; leads the implementation of the strategy on a regional level and ensures its understanding and application. Actively contributes to discussions on global MW objectives, implements global MW objectives on a regional basis and sets and drives regional objectives. * Provides senior support and guidance to more junior staff on any MW-related issue or project type, including discussions with clients, document preparation, project budgeting, project planning, and issues arising. May design training materials and input into generic training plans. May plan and deliver training on MW topics, or other scientific or technical training, within the Global business unit, to other IQVIA groups, and outside IQVIA, as appropriate. * Sets SMART goals and objectives for staff. * Manage staff in accordance with organization's policies and applicable regulations. Responsibilities include planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance and guiding professional development; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing employee relations issues and resolving problems. Approve actions on human resources. * Independently prepares and presents slides for MW component of any full-service or stand-alone MW bid defense meeting. May review and propose costings for any type of Medical Writing project, and actively participate in discussions around discounts, special rates, and/or large volume projects. Provides input into business proposals for any writing project. Presents and answers questions on overall MW global capabilities to prospective customers. Takes a proactive role in approaching, presenting to, and developing a relationship with potential customers. May act as Global Operational Head for a specific customer. * May advise and consult with internal and/or external clients in an area of expertise. Identifies and responds appropriately to issues and problems, providing adequate and/or innovative solutions. May support business development by presentations at professional meetings. May plan and deliver workshops or presentations on MW topics, e.g. for a conference. May lead/chair a session on MW related topics at a conference.
