What you'll be doing...

As a senior member of the enterprise Red Team, you will be responsible to lead in the design and execution of campaign based security testing for Verizon, covering multiple types of targets. Successful applicants must be capable of evaluating environments, applications, systems or processes to discover weaknesses, and subsequently leverage those discoveries into actionable real world attack strategies.

The successful candidate will possess an effective aptitude in security of operating systems, networking and protocols, firewalls, databases and middleware applications, forensics, scripting and programing with the ability to mentor and lead junior technical testers and effectively translate highly technical information to internal customers in a way that supports CIS and broader Verizon goals.

Responsibilities:

  • Perform and lead a full scope of Red Team testing; including network penetration, web and mobile application testing, source code reviews, threat analysis, wireless network assessments, social-engineering testing, and IDS/IPS/HIDS/HIPS evasion techniques.

  • Develop comprehensive and accurate reports and presentations for both technical and executive audiences.

  • Helps define the Red Team strategy to further enhance the company's security posture. Effectively communicate findings and strategy to client stakeholders including technical staff, executive leadership, and legal counsel.

  • Provide risk-appropriate and pragmatic recommendations to correct vulnerabilities found.

  • Configure and safely utilize attacker tools, tactics, and procedures for Verizon environments.

  • Develop scripts, tools, or methodologies to enhance Verizon's red teaming processes.

  • Assist with scoping and leading exercises.

  • Drives technical oversight and mentors less experienced staff during penetration and analysis efforts.

  • Provides leadership and guidance to advance the defensive capabilities of the team and its subsequent ability to defend the Verizon Enterprise.

What we're looking for...

You'll need to have:

  • Bachelor's degree or four or more years of work experience.

  • Six or more years of relevant work experience.

Even better if you have:

  • A degree in a technical field.

  • Six or more years of experience in two or more of the following:

  • Network penetration testing and manipulation of network infrastructure.

  • Mobile and/or web application assessments.

  • Email, phone, or physical social-engineering assessments.

  • Shell scripting or automation of simple tasks using Perl, Python, or Ruby.

  • Developing, extending, or modifying exploits, shellcode or exploit tools.

  • Source code review for control flow and security flaws.

  • Experience with Red, Blue, or Purple teaming exercises.

  • Strong knowledge of tools used for wireless, web application, and network security testing, such as Kali Linux, Metasploit, Burp suite, Core Impact, Cobalt Strike, Nessus, Web Inspect, and Scuba.

  • Knowledge of common hosting environments such as containerization platforms (e.g., Docker and Kubernetes) and virtual machines running under hypervisors.

  • An implementation level knowledge with all common classes of modern exploitation such as: XSS, XMLi, SQLi, etc

  • Knowledge of network protocols, data on the wire, and covert channels.

  • Mastery of Unix/Linux/Mac/Windows operating systems, including bash and Powershell.

  • Programming skills as well as the ability to read and assess applications written in multiple languages, such as JAVA, .NET, C#, or others.

  • Industry certifications such as OSCP/OSCE, OSWE, GPEN, GCIH, GWAPT, or GXPN.

  • A continuous learner; with a desire to stay current on security trends, tool, technologies and best practices.

Verizon Cloud Services Platform and Engineering team is looking for an experienced, high performing, hands-on senior engineer to drive the Enterprise IT transformation goals. Migration to containers is one of the top objectives for Verizon in 2019 and beyond. This highly visible role has several key responsibilities: * Being an integral part of a team of highly motivated and skilled platform engineers to successful implementation of the next-gen container platform for Verizon. * Defining and implementing the best architectures for the container solutions for both, on-prem as well as cloud environments. * Running deployments of large projects to support mission critical applications in the Cloud PaaS solution. * Evaluating, POC-ing and selecting the best products that fit the needs of the platform. * Implementing and maintaining automation platforms deployments and management. * Integrating and automating platform support and maintenance activities utilizing the CICD (Jenkins, Ansible, CFT, etc.). * Proactively monitoring via automation to detect and resolve any anomalies to the platforms. * Working closely with the customer - application teams internal to Verizon, to drive adoption of the container solution and to assist the teams in coming up with the best approach for their migrations, including architecture evaluation, setting up orchestration for application deployments. Guiding development teams on best practices to containerize applications. * Designing and building the K8S environments based on the application systems requirements. * Mentoring other platform engineers to ensure they become more proficient in understanding and developing public cloud services. What we're looking for... You'll need to have: * Bachelor's degree or four or more years of work experience. * Six or more years of relevant work experience.
