Job Description:

We are looking for a Senior Recruiter- Data Sciences who understands that the most important thing that will lead to breakthroughs in human biology, health and disease is our people.

Broad Institute researchers generate on the order of 20 terabytes (roughly equivalent to more than 6.6 billion tweets or 3,300 high definition feature-length movies) of sequence data every day. This vast trove of information holds knowledge that could fundamentally transform our understanding of human biology, health, and disease.

The critical role of our computer scientists, software engineers, informaticians, mathematicians, and others who make up our data science community is to build dynamic tools to store, curate and analyze insights and share data rapidly, efficiently, openly, accurately, and broadly.

You're a Thought Leader: You are an analytical thinker who is skilled at leveraging data and market insights to tell a story and drive a recruiting strategy. You approach recruiting using both quantitative and qualitative data.

You're an Advisor: You partner with hiring leaders and teams to deeply understand their objectives and corresponding hiring needs.

You challenge your leaders on scale and scope of role. You ask them to consider different organizational models when the original isn't working. You communicate frequently, ask for input, and pivot as needed. You easily operate in an ambiguous environment, and when a hiring leader comes to you with a role that is outside of the box, you know how to connect the dots and find them the best candidates.

You're a Technical Expert: You have built and consistently maintain a strong macro (industry level) and micro (role specific level) knowledge to build credibility and strengthen your ability to serve as a trusted recruitment partner. You really know where the best talent in the data science community lives, and you know how to recruit them.

You're a storyteller: You know how to talk about organizational structure, culture, success stories, and future road map of the groups you support. These customized stories help candidates discover the rich and fulfilling experiences that Broad has to offer.

Your Impact

  • You are an active and visible partner within the groups that you support; regardless if there is an open req. You know the people, group goals, and technical expertise needed to be successful. You share your knowledge and expertise with members of the recruitment team.

  • You are here to make a positive impact on biomedical research. You are passionate about our mission and proudly share stories about the transformative work that defines Broad.

  • You create and own a flawlessly positive candidate experience. You build strong relationships with your candidates, engaging with them throughout the recruiting process.

  • You provide white glove service for your hiring leaders and share best practices on writing job descriptions, interviewing, debriefs, assessment tools, etc.

  • Bachelor's Degree and 7+ years of recruitment experience with an emphasis on technical recruiting. i.e Software Engineering, Computational Biology, Machine Learning, Data Science

  • Ability to self-direct work and comfort dealing with ambiguity and shifting priorities

  • Lead with authenticity and know how to "speak the language" to your hiring leaders and candidates

  • Proven track record of developing advanced sourcing strategies, and launch creative campaigns to nurture a deep network of passive talent.
