This position reports to

Global R&D Technology Manager

Your role and responsibilities

In this role, you will have the opportunity to contribute significantly to successful project results in technology, software, product, and/or solution development, as well as associated Intellectual Property (IP). Each day, you will act as the first point of contact in Research and Development for specific product-related issues and maintenance. You will also showcase your expertise by identifying, proposing, and implementing innovative solutions.

The work model for the role is: Onsite #LI - Onsite This role is contributing to the Electrification Smart Power division in US. The main stakeholder is Power Protection.

You will be mainly accountable for: • Designing and developing power converters. • Supporting the overall design cycle of the new product, from simulation to validation and documentation, trough design and test. • Conducting and coordinating complex analyses, developing recommendations based on technology/engineering practices and business considerations. • Planning and coordinating a range of complex technology/engineering activities. Qualifications for the role

• Master's degree in Electrical/Electronics Engineering with thesis in Power Electronics or Bachelor's Degree in Electrical/Electronics and equivalent work experience.

• 5+ years of UPS or related experience.

• Proven experience in power semiconductor characteristic, inductors and passive components.

• Experience with power electronic design topologies, knowledge of UPS technology and familiarity with the power protection.

• Proficiency with simulation tools (MATLAB/Simulink, LT Spice) and programming language C.

• Willingness to travel occasionally (5%).

• Candidates must already have a work authorization that would permit them to work for ABB in the US.
