The Senior Rate Audit Clerk will effectively work with multiple departments to provide administrative support for the Revenue Management Team. This position will gain an understanding of freight procedures and Bills of Lading within the Transportation industry. They will maintain and promote positive relationships with customers and team members.


  • Identify opportunities for revenue generation and conduct root cause analysis within queues

  • Identify and correct pricing/quote inaccuracies.

  • Communicate with supervisor when inaccuracies arise

  • Manage and audit allowance, rebate, overcharge claims, and revenue adjustments in accordance to company policy and guidelines.

  • Maintain exceptional level of accuracy and consistency when applying rates/fees.

  • Communicate high dollar adjustments to Supervisor & Manager.

  • Create and maintain training guides/manuals for areas of responsibility.

  • Identify root cause problems and create solutions

  • Identify customer contracts in which tariff charges need to be applied


  • Basic computer literacy and experience with Excel.

  • Effective organizational and prioritization skills for managing multiple tasks with occasional interruptions

  • Effective verbal, interpersonal and written communication skills for handling phone inquiries, composing correspondence, dealing with internal and external customers and assisting management.

  • Ability to type with speed and accuracy.


  • Able to type 45 words per minute

  • Experience in the transportation industry including night billing procedures.

  • Proficiency with reading and interpreting contracts & pricing applications.

  • Familiarity with Bills of Lading.

  • Experience with AS400.

  • Knowledge of National Motor Freight Classification guidelines.
