WSP is currently initiating a search for a Senior Rail Inspector Construction Inspection Services on Rail Projects in our Jersey City
Your Impact
Duties and Responsibilities:
Provide assistance to PATH Project Manager / Resident Engineer as directed
Rail Track Replacement Experience Focused, Full Replacement of Ballast, Ties and Rail, Etc.
Experience with Rail Outage and schedules
Nights / Weekend work required
Overall contract compliance via daily inspections for all rail construction, some civil, mechanical and electric work.
Prepare daily inspection reports in accordance with the project's requirements, recording and reporting any deviations from contract documents.
Review contractor As-Builts monthly to ensure they are updated
Conduct and document, per PATH Procedures, onsite QA/QC activities through use of: 1st Delivery Inspections, Closure Inspections, Mock-Up Inspections, and Acceptance Testing
Prepare and coordinate Pre-Activity meetings prior to significant scopes of work.
Perform a detailed comparison of the contract drawings, specifications, and approved product submittals to ensure conformance with the contract.
Monitoring of sub-contractor & supplier usage to ensure pre-approval before work starts
Assist the contractor(s) with the coordination of activities on the construction site with the other trades and the facility
Monitor workforce and performance against the work plan
Monitor compliance with generally accepted standards of workmanship
Offer recommendations to improve constructability
Complete punchlists and track completion
Coordination and scheduling with 3rd party specialty inspections (ie: asbestos abatement monitoring or steel inspection)
Perform additional duties as deemed necessary
Who You Are
Required Qualifications
9+ years minimum experience in Railroad construction experience including knowledge of Ballast, Ties and Rail structure, bridge and facility construction methods, materials, standards, and specifications, with knowledge of all facets of construction and construction documents.
High School Diploma
Ability to pass Safety Training
Ability to pass SWAC (Secure Worker Access Consortium) background Screening
Must be able to manage the various projects using established controls and procedures and provide job site leadership in all areas of scheduling, safety, quality, coordination with the designers and any critical issues pertinent to the project or the client / facility.
Working knowledge of applicable codes, standards, and materials.
Working knowledge of state and federal safety, environment guidelines and regulations.
Proficient in basic computer skills utilizing Windows / Outlook / Word / Excel and scheduling applications
Understanding of construction scheduling utilizing Primavera P6
Strong interpersonal skills
Strong verbal communication with Train master required along with written communication skills
Valid driver's license
Proven ability to adhere to WSP's Code of Conduct and related policies and procedures.
Exercise responsible and ethical decision-making regarding company funds, resources and conduct and adhere to WSP's Code of Conduct and related policies and procedures.
Proven track record of upholding workplace safety and ability to abide by WSP's health, safety and drug/alcohol and harassment policies.
This role is subject to a client mandated drug/alcohol testing policy. As such, employee may be subject to random drug/alcohol tests. A copy of the client mandated drug/alcohol testing policy will be provided during employee onboarding and is available upon applicant request.
Relocation assistance is not available for this position.

Compensation:
Expected Salary (all locations): $71,800 - $142,000
WSP USA is providing the compensation range that the company in good faith believes it might pay and offer for this position, based on the successful applicant's education, experience, knowledge, skills, abilities in addition to internal equity and specific geographic location. WSP USA reserves the right to ultimately pay more or less than the posted range and offer additional benefits and other compensation, depending on circumstances not related to an applicant's sex or other status protected by local, state, and/or federal law.
