Pall Corporation is seeking an experienced and research driven Senior R&D Engineer to join our central R&D group in Hauppauge, NY (Long Island). The central R&D's group core focus is device technology development for tangential flow filtration devices. This position will collaborate with multi-disciplinary team members to invent, design and develop novel bioprocessing products and equipment for downstream processing.
The successful candidate will have the opportunity to add significant value in defining the future of drug manufacturing processes. He/ she will create prototypes and develop evaluation protocols to further optimize the device performance.
Functions as a Project Manager of technology projects, coordinating team activity, maintaining schedule, updating action items, and reporting to stakeholders.
Functions as the Technical Lead on development projects, coordinating with a diverse technical project team, and demonstrating ownership of specific technical scope/deliverables
Designs and executes experiments required to define and/or evaluate new products and/or processes and be a team member in cross functional teams gathered to either resolve a specific issue and/or develop a specific product.
Conducts data analysis, utilizes analytical instruments and performs characterization studies with biological products.
Builds new experimental setups and/or proficient to work with semi- and/or fully-automated skids and data acquisition tools to increase the efficiency of the application work.
Communicates effectively through technical reports and presentations.
Complies with legal requirements by adherence to requirements of existing and new regulations and legislation.
Complies with all company policies and procedures.
Works in a manner that supports team work.
Ensures a safe and healthy environment by complying with all company safety policies and procedures.
Masters or PhD in Chemical/Mechanical/Biomedical/Materials/Polymer engineering or related field with at least 3 years of industrial and/or research experience in Bioprocessing applications; including experience with project management and product development.
Experience with Bioprocessing, and specifically Tangential Flow Filtration (TFF) is highly desired.
