As a Senior Technical Quote Representative

  • Specials Tech, you will be responsible for generating and delivering accurate quotes for technical products or services in a timely manner. You will work closely with the sales team, customers, and product managers to understand customer requirements and provide pricing information accordingly. Your role is pivotal in ensuring that customers receive competitive and comprehensive quotes that meet their needs.

WHAT YOU'LL BE DOING (% of Time)

Design verification drawings in (Components Solutions AutoCAD), Engage with inside sales & the customer to develop a clear understanding of customer needs and determine price for Special Fab Orders. Procurement of material in SAP. (55%)

Facilitate, input, and process quote requests from customers, field sales and inside sales. Quotes will cover all product lines including, but not limited to: Project Based Quotes, Residential, Commercial, OEM, National Accounts. (20%)

Analysis & Collaboration with the customer to explore cost effective solutions while meeting Project Requirements while maintaining alignment with project specifications. (20%)

Other miscellaneous job duties as assigned as needed. (5%)

DESIRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE

If you can do everything listed above, you've got what it takes. Perhaps some of the following would be helpful too:

  • Associate degree (A.A) or equivalent from two-year college or technical school, preferred.

  • 3- 5 years strong working knowledge of the Simpson Strong-Tie product line and the building industry.

  • 2D Drawing AutoCAD Experience, Inventor (3d Models), Solid Works 3D Drawing, or relevant technical/engineering drawing experience.

  • Software: Demonstrate the ability to quickly learn new computer applications. Strong Computer Skills in Microsoft Office, SAP, Outlook, Excel Outlook, Word, PowerPoint, Blue Beam

  • Adobe Acrobat, Adobe Illustrator, SketchUp, Inventor, Showcase, AutoCAD
  • Mathematical Reasoning: Ability to work with mathematical concepts such as probability and statistical inference, and fundamentals of plane and solid geometry and trigonometry. Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations.

  • Teamwork: Demonstrate ability to motivate and work with team members. Must be able to connect, interface, and communicate well with a variety of internal and external partners in sales and engineering.

  • Analysis/Reasoning: Effective analytical, technical, and problem-solving skills.

  • Communication: Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers and the general public. Ability to write in a clear, concise, organized, and convincing manner for the intended audience.

  • Self-Management/Prioritization: Ability to display a high level of initiative, effort and commitment toward completing assignments in a timely manner

  • Attention to Detail: Ability to complete all work according to procedures and standards and achieve thoroughness and accuracy when accomplishing a task

  • Customer Focus: Ability to readily readjust priorities to respond to pressing and changing client demands

  • Problem Solving: Ability to identify the information needed to solve a problem effectively

WORK ENVIRONMENT

This job operates in a professional office environment where standard office equipment such as computers, phones, printers/scanners, etc. are frequently used.

TRAVEL

This position requires domestic and international travel up to 5% of the time.

WORK STATUS & LOCATION

This full-time, non-exempt position is located in Riverside CA.

RELOCATION

Relocation is not available for this position.

PAY

$29.28 - $46.83 / hour
