Senior Quality Specialist

Reporting directly to the Plant QA Manager at our manufacturing facility in Darien, WI, local producer of Birds Eye products, you will implement programs within given functional area of the food safety and quality group.

What impact will you have on our business?

• Gather and study data to understand trends and issues to provide input to decisions related to product safety and quality.

• Manage team members within assigned technical responsibilities.

• Assist management in the design of processes for quality systems and implement inspection criteria.

• Deliver training programs for all plant employees.

• Provide technical support and data analysis in managing situations and issues relative to our quality and food safety.

• Conduct and participate in quality and food safety audits.

• Collaborate and provide technical support to appropriate functions and employees to assure food safety and quality.

• Evaluate effectiveness of programs to assure continuous improvement.

• Participate on teams to assure implementation of QA programs and process improvement of our suppliers.

• Knowledge of GFSI Benchmarked Schemes (namely SQF and BRC), GMP's, Sanitation, Pest Control, Food Safety and HACCP systems, Training, Allergens, and applicable programs/regulations.

• Ensure Food Safety Plans (HACCP) are current, relevant, and implemented to meet Conagra standards and regulatory requirements (FDA and USDA).

• Provide technical support to appropriate functions and employees to assure regulatory compliance, food safety and quality of company products.

• Collaborate outside of FSQRA organization to improve the effectiveness with regards to food safety and quality.

Do you have what it takes?

• BS in Food, Biological or Chemical Science or related field required.

• 5 years industry experience

• Knowledge of food safety, food manufacturing processes, and technologies

• Experience working in a manufacturing production environment

• Knowledge of government regulatory requirements in food packaging (GFSI, FSMA, FDA, and USDA)
