Senior Quality Manager, North America
Role Purpose
Environmental, Health, Safety and Quality Systems (EHSQS) is the number one priority at Tate & Lyle. It is one of our core values and influences every business decision we make. The Sr. Quality Assurance (QA) Manager will be responsible for leadership in direction of Quality Assurance Managers at all partner facilities assigned to their group. This guidance includes ensuring the Food Safety and Quality Management Systems at each facility comply with company policies, specifications, food safety standards, government regulations, and industry best practices. Additionally, the Sr. QA Manager will demonstrate and foster a culture of continuous improvement to further elevate our performance and standards.

Accountabilities
The Senior QA Manager will provide support, coaching and direction as needed for all partner facilities. They will serve as a key member of their regional leadership team and function as the senior point of contact for all escalated Supply Chain, Product Management and Manufacturing issues which arise. This will be accomplished, in part, by being a visible presence at manufacturing sites and the commercial offices on a basis that is aligned with Global Quality and Global Ops leadership.
Further expectations include:
Be the demonstrated lead in personal and product safety for the QA teams
Develop and sustain an environment for the personal and professional growth and development of the Quality Assurance Managers and teams for all facilities
Hold responsibility for the provision of support across Quality activities and compliance within their assigned region to ensure compliance with national and international regulations, the safe operation of our facilities, the quality of the work performed, and the safe completion of all tasks without harm to health, safety, the environment, or our customers
Provide support to enable and empower our employees and contractors on EHSQS matters, ensuring everyone is engaged in shaping our EHSQS programs
Actively support and promote the Journey to EHSQS Excellence, conducting assessments, facilitating best practice sharing, and domain expertise
Engage proactively with the commercial team (Sales & Product Management) to resolve roadblocks to success while leveraging quality as a competitive advantage
Engage proactively with the Innovation and Commercial Development team to ensure quality compliance for new product development in the region
Provide QA/QC support and advice in partnership with Quality Systems & Governance as needed to Supply Chain Managers concerning any third-party tollers, vendors, or suppliers.
Identify QA/QC best practices and drive implementation across the broader network
Accelerate, implement and embed initiatives derived from Global Quality at partner facilities
Lead support and execution of internal audits at manufacturing facilities and external audits for services providers
Skills and Experience Required
Bachelor of Science (BS) degree in Food Science, Microbiology, Food Engineering, Chemistry or comparable field required
5+ years of related Management experience either directly or tangentially related to Manufacturing Quality Systems (Food Mfg. preferred)
5+ years' experience in direct team leadership required
Sound felt leadership, listening, coaching, and organizational capabilities
Familiarity and experience with GFSI Food Safety certification management required
A clear focus on the development of high performing teams
Formal preventive controls, Quality System training is strongly preferred
Open, honest, direct, non-aggressive communication skills with internal and external stakeholders at all levels
Strong regional Regulatory, Kosher, Halal and GFSI third party audit management experience
Proactive, process-oriented, continuous improvement approach
Self-managing, flexible to work under pressure and on your own initiative
Purpose driven in Transforming Lives Through the Science of Food
Lean Six-Sigma project experience or certification preferred.
Commercial knowledge/business acumen; experience working closely with Commercial teams
Allergen control management expertise, food safety, environmental monitoring and food defense programs
Strong knowledge of SAP Quality Management system required
Ability to travel within assigned region(s)
Location of position is preferred to be near a T&L site (Sycamore-IL, Decatur-IL, Hoffman Estates-, Lafayette-IN, Van Buren-AR, McIntosh-AL, Houlton-ME)
