Our client is adding a Senior Quality Inspector to their team.
You will be responsible for training and mentoring less experienced Inspectors on First Piece, In-Process and Final Piece Inspections, dimensional layouts and full First Article Inspection reports.
You will be trained on and utilize Coordinate Measuring Machines and other tools within the metrology realm including micrometers, vernier calipers, attribute gages, depth micrometers and optical comparators.
You will participate in the Material Review Board and Discrepant Material Report process as well as in the SPC, APQP, PPAP, ISO and/or AS9100 process alongside the Quality Manager to develop new quality standards.
Five or more years of quality inspection experience is required.
Ten or more years of quality inspection experience is a plus with a background mentoring, training and leading less experienced inspectors on proper quality measurement techniques.

Duties and Responsibilities * Performs analysis on processing and packaging goods in a timely manner. Analyzes visual, organoleptic, weight, size, mix, moisture, water activity and salt to ensure consistency. * Processing: Performs finished and in-process product analysis. Performs free fatty acid analysis on processing oil. Checks processing lines for type of product, correctness of labels and date codes. Prints and verifies roaster temperature readings. Tests metal detectors for compliance. Performs ATP testing to assure proper cleaning. Performs pre-operational inspections on production lines. * Packaging: Performs analysis on packaging integrity and quality including: oxygen, vacuum, leaker, quantity and weight testing. Checks packaging lines for type of product, label accuracy, date codes, lids and over cap color. Test metal detectors for compliance. Performs ATP testing to assure proper cleaning. Performs pre-operational inspections on production lines. * Enters data for analysis, holds and equipment check outs. * Prepares samples for analysis by consulting R&D lab. * Holds "out of specification" products. * Performs any extra assigned duties as needed. * Responsible for manufacturing, distributing and consistently maintaining safe and quality food by following good manufacturing practices, allergen controls, food defense, HACCP, SQF regulatory requirements. * Aware and accountable for maintaining and documenting preventative controls necessary to ensure food safety and quality. * Responsible for immediately reporting all food safety and quality issues to management. * Responsible for partnering with others, sharing knowledge, skills and information within assigned team and across functional areas. * Responsible for enhancing technical and functional competencies, as well as professional and leadership development. Qualifications * High School diploma or equivalent required. * Food quality experience required. * Attention to detail, good record keeping and basic math skills. * Must be able to eat any snack product or nut variety. * Ability to lift and carry up to 20 pounds and stand for long periods. * Ability to use the following: calculator, analytical scale, salt/moisture/oxygen analyzers, water activity meter and color meter. * Ability to climb stairs and ladders. * May be exposed to high temperatures.
