Plans, coordinates and executes activities in support of Quality System. Supports Manufacturing in development and implementation of quality procedures and work instructions. Supports the corrective action, internal audit, and statistical data collection/analysis processes. Interface with Engineering for Design and Assembly/Test requirements.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS include the following: Other duties may be assigned

  • Develop variable and attribute data collection system for Manufacturing.

  • Drives corrective and preventive actions, including process and product design improvements for procedural, product, or process deficiencies through the analysis of data from various sources.Generates routine reports for review by management.

  • Instruct, train and support QC Inspection personnel with new inspection techniques and tools.

  • Support Customer Service and Sales in RMA activities.Assist in evaluating returned product, recommending corrective action and generating formal responses to Customer.

  • Participates in supply base management including supplier approval, part/process qualification and continuing quality oversight including quality performance reporting.

  • Participate in the development team as the manufacturing expert, providing input on DFx and coordinating prototype/pilot builds. Assists product development with identifying and implementing methods and technologies intended to design in quality.

  • Coordinate and execute activities during introduction of new products from product concept through transfer into manufacturing.Develop formal processes for assembly and testing of product in Manufacturing. ESSENTIAL INTERPERSONAL JOB FUNCTIONS

Six sigma green belt or black belt certification and demonstrated leadership in Kaizen/Lean activities a plus.

Qualifications:

PHYSICAL ACTIVITIES REQUIRED TO PERFORM ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

Ability to: lift up to 40 pounds occasionally, keyboard, and communicate by speech and hearing continuously. Occasional travel by car and plane. Visual acuity needed for computer work.

JOB CONDITIONS

General office, engineering laboratory and manufacturing environments.

May require working with hazardous substances.

QUALIFICATIONS

BS in an engineering field. Minimum of 7 to 10 years of Quality Engineering experience in precision manufacturing environment with Quality System duties including SPC, inspection and gauging, drafting and tolerancing, and auditing and non-conformance controls. Demonstrated ability to work independently with good communication and interpersonal skills. Prior supervisory experience a plus. Background in fluid handling preferred. ISO9001:2000 & ISO13485 knowledge preferred.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND FUNCTIONS * Maintains a clean and safe work environment. * Reads and interprets blueprints, planning sheet * Starts machine and monitors displays and machine operation to detect malfunctions, and measures parts for conformance to blueprint specifications * Knowledge of basic offsets and tool changes * Follow the clearly defined processes / standard work instructions * Troubleshoot problems * Read blueprints * Read and interpret working drawings then produce products within specification * Use measurement equipment including calipers, micrometers and drop gages * Inspect parts per required frequency and complete SPC as required * Maintains production standards * Must be able to left 50 pounds * Vision System experience a plus * CMM experience a plus * CNC programming ability a plus * G code experience a plus * Other duties may be assigned as needed Qualifications: QUALIFICATIONS: To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily and work on multiple machines simultaneously.
