Senior Quality Engineer

Senior Quality Engineer (Vivint, Inc., Provo, Utah) Responsible for the testing, development, and release of quality software. Work closely with the development team to conduct service testing.

Provide high level assistance with the release of code, including approving PR’s, merging code and working with developers to resolve merge conflicts. Work with other QA Engineers as well as developers from other verticals who need to release their code to the company’s platform. Perform manual testing of iOS & Android applications and systems.

Evaluate manual test cases for ability to be automated. Help to automate the regression test suite. Own new test plans and test execution for new product features.

Identify quality gaps and write test cases. Execute regression test suites. Play an integral role in the agile software development lifecycle.

Serve as an advocate for the end user. Position allows telecommuting from anywhere in the U.S. Salary: $97,700 - $130,000 per year.

Minimum Requirements: Bachelor’s degree or U.S. equivalent in Computer Science, Information Systems, Computer Engineering, Information Technology, or related field plus 5 years of professional experience as a QA Engineer, Test Engineer, or any occupation/position/job title involving developing and executing software tests. In lieu of a Bachelor's degree plus 5 years of experience, the employer will accept a Master’s degree or U.S. equivalent in Computer Science, Information Systems, Computer Engineering, Information Technology, or related field, plus 3 years of professional experience as a QA Engineer, Test Engineer, or any occupation/position/job title involving developing and executing software tests.

Must also have experience in the following: 3 years of professional experience testing software, defining test strategies, and executing feature, regression, and performance testing; 3 years of professional experience writing test plans and test cases; 3 years of professional experience with agile development methodologies , Scrum and Kanban; 2 years of professional experience with source management tools including Git and BitBucket; 2 years of professional experience performing service level testing using Paw, Insomnia or Postman; 2 years of professional experience working in a Linux environment including debugging system level issues; 2 years of professional experience utilizing cloud deployment/monitoring tools including Jenkins, Amazon Web Services, or Kubernetes; and 1 year of professional experience merging code and resolving merge conflicts.
