Thales Defense & Security, Inc. is currently seeking an experience Quality Engineer to work in our Clarksburg, Maryland Campus.

Responsibilities

  • Manage Supply Chain Quality Assurance activities to include approving / auditing suppliers, conducting Source Inspections of Hardware / Software, and maintaining the corporate Supplier Rating System.

  • Implement APQP and PPAP programs at critical suppliers.

  • Initiate and evaluate Corrective Actions for Supplier nonconformance's.

  • Provide interface between Purchasing, Engineering, Program Management, and Manufacturing departments during transition of new products from the design phase to the production phase.

  • Support Program Quality Assurance activities for production programs to include MRB, CCB, FRB, and Work Product review and approval.

  • Manage high-priority tasks of multiple projects simultaneously in development.

  • Develop Inspection Plans and processes for Receiving and Final Inspection activities.

  • Support Continuous Improvements based on statistical analysis.

  • Ability to follow and comply with all Company policies, procedures and guidelines including the Compliance Policy Manual and the Code of Ethics.

Qualifications

  • U.S. Citizen

  • Ability to obtain a US Secret Security Clearance

  • BS Mechanical Engineering or equivalent/related technical degree.

  • 5+ years of Quality Engineering experience.

  • Proficient in ASME / ANSI Y14.5 with demonstrated ability to read mechanical drawings.

  • Demonstrated knowledge of electro-mechanical assemblies, IPC standards as well as familiarity with schematics and RF Test equipment.

  • Knowledgeable in elements of Software Quality Assurance, automated MRP systems, Cause / Corrective Action systems.

  • AS9100/ CMMI experience a plus.

  • Excellent English communication skills written and oral.

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Products

  • Proficiency in Minitab

  • Ability to travel up to 40% of time (50% local/50% domestic).

We currently have an opening in our Clarksburg, MD office for an experienced Senior Contracts Manager. This position reports directly to the Manager of Mechanical Design. Responsibilities In this position, you will function as an Associate Mechanical Engineer and perform Mechanical product design from conceptualization to production for tactical portable and mobile communications equipment. You will be involved in all aspects of the design of electronics packaging for small, rugged, light weight, portable handheld devices (i.e. 2-way radios) and their accessories (batteries, chargers, base stations, etc.). You will increase your design experience and knowledge in various mechanical processes (machining, die casting, injection molding, etc.) and gain a deeper understanding of various materials (metals, plastics, elastomers, etc). You will be responsible for design, conducting analysis (thermal, stress, etc.), design documentation, mechanical drawings, building prototypes, and performing verification testing to ensure your design meets product requirements. Qualifications * U.S. Citizenship.
