ITW Construction is a ~$2.0B segment that provides a variety of fastening systems and truss products for the commercial, residential, and remodeling/renovation segments. The segment includes products manufactured at locations around the globe serving markets in North America, Europe, Asia, New Zealand and Australia. The Global Tool Unit (GTU) is a part of ITW's Construction Segment. The GTU innovates, develops, and manufactures best-in-class Power Fastening Systems for the global construction market. Our highly differentiated tools are specified to be used in a variety of applications including wood framing, wood trim, and steel to concrete installations.

Summary:

The purpose of this position is to ensure that products and processes meet established quality standards by identifying shortfalls, conduct root cause analysis, developing corrective actions, and implementing quality control systems, and to ensure the integrity of all components parts delivered to assembly plants according to print specifications and that the specifications are accurate and reliable. To provide engineering support to ensure quality and prevent interruptions to the assembly process.

Core Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with the Assembly and Engineering teams to conduct analysis and investigate quality issues, identify root causes, and ensure issues are resolved.

  • Collaborate with Sourcing and Supplier Quality Engineers to resolve component issues, coordinate the disposition and processing of nonconforming parts.

  • Collaborate with the NPD team to provide feedback about customer complaints and quality issues in the field and during assembly.

  • Support and update the Quality Management System (QMS) with incidents, fixes, and improvements.

  • Assist in the implementation of quality metrics for all manufacturing procedures.

  • Set detailed guidelines of quality checks needed in the assembly line for standardized products.

  • Prepare reports on quality issues and corrective actions.

  • Analyze internal and external customer feedback for trends and continuous improvement.

  • Utilize data monitoring tools to highlight analysis priorities.

  • Coordinate with quality inspectors and technicians to ensure quality standards are met.

  • Perform assembly compliance walks.

  • Prepare and present materials/findings both internally and externally.
