Job Description

As a Senior Quality Engineer, you are responsible for product quality on assigned programs to ensure that customer contract requirements are fulfilled. You will routinely liaise with internal Engineering, Sales, Supply Chain, and Operations departments as well as Field Service. The Sr. Quality Engineer may also interface with customers and potential suppliers. You'll be part of an organization expected to perform at the highest level with minimal errors, setting an example to the rest of the business unit to ensure they embrace the highest organizational standards.

Duties & Responsibilities

  • Review of customer contracts, Statements of Work, Purchase Order Quality Clauses, drawings and specifications

  • Review and approval of quality requirements for Manufacturing Planning and Supplier Purchase Orders

  • Participate in QMS process management

  • Drive improvement

  • Analyze data to develop metrics and trends

  • Assist with establishing Root Cause of failures and defects

  • Assist with completion of customer issued Corrective Action as well as issuance and follow up of Internal CAR's.

  • Comply with and ensure department compliance with all Company policies and procedures

  • Use of technical drawings, specifications, manufacturing work instructions, inspection procedures, and configuration control of documents

  • Experienced with Configuration Control Board (CCB), review of ECNs, drawings, source control specifications, test plans & reports

  • Good working knowledge and experience with Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T)

  • Experienced with practices associated with ISO 9000 Quality Management Systems

  • Investigation of non-conformances and continuous improvement techniques; e.g., RCCA, 8D, 5-Why, PFMEA

  • Perform other related duties as assigned

The Individual

Education/Training:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, Manufacturing, or related field with 7+ years of experience; or equivalency experience and education allowing for successful execution of duties
  • ASQ Certified Quality Engineer desirable

Experience:

  • Experienced in First Article Inspection (FAI)

  • Familiar with typical ERP business system software

  • Proficient in MS Office products including Excel, PowerPoint, and Word and other CRM tools

Knowledge/Skills:

  • Excellent written and oral communication skills

  • Ability to multi-task and prioritize, be a self-starter

  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy
