Our Senior Quality Assurance Engineer works as part of the development team to release products that have been quality approved, are usable, and meet or exceed customer expectations. Is responsible for providing and promoting quality standards, methods and practices; this includes quality planning, test management, and complete evaluations of scalable quality processes and procedures relating to the development of Web-based solutions. Able to create & maintain automated testing scripts/suites leveraging JavaScript-based Cypress.io.

What you do:

SQA Methodologies, Practices and Processes

  • Works with Project Manager in project scoping and estimating project work

  • Works with other project leads to establish and develop strategy, approach and planning on account projects

  • Participates in requirements and use case reviews, code walk-throughs and internal design reviews

  • Participates in analysis and testing activities, as required by project/resource allocations

  • Participates in the evaluation and selection of tools and applications

  • Works alongside Front-end Developers to create and expand JavaScript test automation scripting/suites, utilizing Cypress.io application

Risk Identification, Assessment and Mitigation

  • Meets regularly with Project Manager to identify and assess project risks and identify mitigation strategies

  • Reviews project artifacts to prevent defects in final project deliverable(s)

  • Collaborates with other project team leads to develop and implement project risk mitigation strategies

  • Reviews defect reports for completeness; identifies and communicates possible trends and patterns

Leadership & Team Management

  • Coordinates activities of testers according to test plans

  • Manages all phases of project test cycles, including configuration, functionality, UI, ad hoc and regression testing

  • Leads, mentors, coaches and trains QA Testers

Client Relationship Management

  • Attends and participate in client project kick off meetings

  • Collaborates successfully with client QA Team, as necessary

  • Communicates test results to client team, as necessary

What you need:

  • BA/BS or advanced degree a plus

  • 5+ years Web-based quality assurance experience

  • Proven ability to monitor adherence to QA methodologies, standards and software testing practices in development and implementation to ensure compliance with business requirements; test management and evaluation

  • Demonstrated leadership ability, including strong interpersonal and teamwork skills

  • Proven ability to manage people and projects, including prioritizing, mentoring, budgeting, estimating, process implementation

  • Experience collaborating directly with senior-level managers and practice directors

  • Well-versed in Web technologies (CMS Platforms, Test Automation Tools, etc.)

  • Statistical analysis and auditing experience highly desirable

  • Test Automation Experience JavaScript coding experience essential for intended initiative.

  • Proofreading skills a plus

This position is currently a temporary need. We anticipate work for this role to go through the end of the year and possibly beyond that time frame.

About the Role: This position is based in San Diego working with both development and commercial products. Will be responsible for day-to-day Clinical Quality Assurance (CQA) activities in support of research projects across multiple therapeutic areas. Additionally, the successful candidate will assist with providing Quality Assurance ("QA") support and training to ensure adherence with applicable regulatory requirements and company policies/procedures. _ Your Contributions (include, but are not limited to): Good Clinical Practice ("GCP") Audit Management: * Coordinate, conduct, and/or oversee GCP audits (e.g., vendor, clinical investigator site, internal audits) to ensure compliance with applicable GCP/regulatory requirements and guidelines, study protocols, monitoring plans and applicable policies/procedures. * Develop and lead with the guidance of their supervisor the execution of audit plans for assigned programs in line with overall QA annual audit plans, including audit resourcing, oversight of consultant auditors, and communications to internal and external stakeholders as applicable. Assist in the audit site selection process for study-specific audit plans. Ensure timely audit conduct, reporting, review, and closeout in accordance with Company SOPs. * Maintain current and accurate audit records, including CQA audit schedules, files, and audit database/tracker. * Provide audit status and metrics reports to management. Study Team Support: * Serve as the CQA Lead for assigned studies. * Monitor the regulatory status of clinical investigators as well as study/site/vendor issues for GCP risks and take action when necessary. * Provide guidance on remediation and corrective action plans to ensure all parts of the study are conducted properly and in compliance. * Support study-specific regulatory inspection activities at clinical investigator sites by leading and or coordinating site inspection preparation activities and reviewing inspection findings and responses in conjunction with QA management. * Provide GCP training as needed, including Investigator Meeting training. Quality Systems: * Work with a multidisciplinary team to help standardize clinical development activities within and across programs through preparation of SOPs and personnel training. * Implement quality systems, processes and procedures within CQA area. * Conduct trend analyses of GCP quality system metrics (e.g., audit observations, deviations, CAPAs, GCP QA activities) for management reporting. * Proactively identify areas for improvement and collaborate with QA and GCP departments on continuous improvement initiatives. QA Department Support: * Work closely with QA management to ensure compliance to regulations, guidelines and company SOPs across the organization, and lead QA initiatives as assigned. * Support all on-site regulatory inspection activities. * May work on other projects within QA not related to GCP and other duties as assigned. Requirements: * RN, BSN, BS/MS, or BA degree or equivalent experience in scientific or health care field. * A minimum of 8 years industry experience of which 5 years must be CQA experience in drug development is preferred. Other combinations of industry experience and training in QA audits and management may be considered. * In-depth knowledge of all Clinical Trial related FDA regulations and ICH Guidelines, and experience with international GCP regulations and guidelines is desired. * Ability to create a comprehensive audit program and carry out audits of investigator sites and clinical research vendors for Phase I-IV studies. Requires an in-depth knowledge of auditing principles, techniques and communication skills to clearly and efficiently convey findings and report deficiencies to investigator sites as well as the Company's management. * Proven track record and experience in searching, review and implementation of regulatory requirements and guidelines including research of principal investigator regulatory histories. Ability to identify and escalate problems and follow-through with the corrective actions. * Ability to work closely with both internal and external personnel to increase the level of compliance and cooperation while creating opportunities to improve operations and effective implementation to reduce errors. * Proven ability to quickly learn new information and communicate requirements to the appropriate individuals. * Must possess strong verbal and written communication skills along with sound organization skills applicable to audit planning, reporting and archiving. * Travel may be required up to 25%.
