Job Summary & Essential Functions: Prints, distributes, and maintains the engineering package and drawings for each railcar lot. Maintains the gauge control system, verifies that certain material meets requirements, verifies that QA documentation is complete prior to car shipments, and maintains the records of railcar lot packages.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

  • Prints out, distributes to selected employees, and maintains the engineering drawings as determined from the bills of material and ensures that only the latest revisions issued by corporate engineering are distributed.

  • Maintains the gauge control system by inputting data on calibration and re-calibration of instruments and distributes the details to selected employees.

  • Verifies that material supplied for tank plate and appurtenances meet the chemical and physical property requirements as defined by published engineering standards.

  • Verifies that all quality assurance documentation is completed before the car is released for shipment and then advises Material Control department representative that each car is ready to ship.

  • Creates and maintains records of railcar lot packages with supporting documentation that are sent to ARI corporate for their distribution to customers.

  • Ensures that safety and housekeeping standards are met and maintained.

  • Performs other duties as directed by the Quality Assurance Manager.

Required Experience / Education / Training / Certifications:Prefers high school education or equivalent and at least one years' experience in an office setting, including specialized training in the operation of office machines, such as, personal computers and calculators.

VIEW JOBS 7/30/2019 12:00:00 AM 2019-10-28T00:00 Job Summary & Essential Functions: Inspects and tests purchased material, in-process material, and finished products to assure proper workmanship and conformity to approve standards and specifications. Maintains quality records for all parts and/or railcars produced in the plant. Required Skills & Qualifications: * Inspects and tests purchased material, in-process material, and finished products to determine quality and acceptability as to conformance with drawings, specifications, AAR rules, FRA regulations, and quality assurance standards. * Examines work for defects in material and workmanship using measuring instruments, such as, micrometers, calipers, indicators, protractors or electronic instruments, tape measures, etc. * Examines finished products for acceptable weld and bolt applications, machined and finished surfaces, and proper component parts and sub-assemblies in accordance with specifications. * Initiates and maintains inspection records; prepares reports of inspections made as evidence that proper quality is being maintained or when material or parts are non-conforming. * Marks rejects for scrap or indicates for permissible reprocessing; investigates recurrent defects and reports findings. * Does first piece and layout procedures per plant system. * Ensures that safety and housekeeping standards are met and maintained. * Performs other duties as directed by the Group Leader -- Quality Assurance. Required Experience / Education / Training / Certifications:Prefer a high school education or equivalent, and at least one years' shop experience in fabricating and assembly operations, and knowledge of product and material specifications, quality assurance inspection methods and procedures and manufacturing methods and processes. Licenses, Certifications, etc: Requires certification as a VT Level1 or AWS CW1.
