The Georgia Technology Authority (GTA) is currently seeking a Senior Quality Assurance Analyst - in the Office of Application Development & Maintenance.

The Georgia Technology Authority (GTA) currently manages the delivery of IT infrastructure services to 89 Executive Branch agencies and managed network services to more than 1,200 state and local government entities. IT infrastructure services encompass mainframes, servers, service desk, end user computing, disaster recovery and security. Managed network services include the state's wide and local area networks, voice, cable and wiring, and conferencing services.

JOB SUMMARY:

The Senior Quality Assurance Analyst acts as a liaison between the IT organization and the business partner Analyze business issues, define requirements, create screen designs, and recommend automated system controls and protocols to solve organizational information issues. Determine operational objectives, gather information, and evaluate output requirements and formats.

Work closely with end users to analyze, define, model, and document systems requirements. Identify project milestones, phases, and elements, and keep team within timeline and budget. Construct workflow charts and diagrams, study system capabilities, and write specifications.

Develop organizational change management framework and conduct user acceptance testing. Maintain automated system protocols by writing and updating procedures. May create end-user documentation (e.g., user guides, process flow charts, training materials) and deliver training.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

Works on multiple projects/applications as a project team member. Considered a subject matter expert for several projects/applications.

Works on projects of moderate to high complexity within one or more development environments. The Senior QA's work with both software developers and business customers to ensure that the business needs are being met by the systems being built, changed, enhanced, or purchased.

  • Responsible for identifying and communicating business needs for multiple/complex software solutions by translating these needs into functional and non-functional requirements used by software developers, usually in the form of a formal business requirements document.

  • Responsible for developing and executing formal test plans and test cases to ensure the delivery of quality software applications.

  • Responsible for the elicitation, analysis and documentation of multiple customers' business requirements for assigned projects/applications. Responsible for test plan and test case creation and execution for assigned projects/applications. Responsibilities include, but may not be limited to, the following:

o Participates in and facilitates customer meetings as well as project team meetings. Participates in project team meetings during all phases of the Software Development Lifecycle (SDLC).

o Serves as a liaison between the business partners and the development team in order to provide technical solutions to meet user needs.

o Utilizes requirements elicitation techniques, such as facilitated sessions, workshops, interviews and shadowing to elicit requirements from customers, users and stakeholders.

o Develops, writes and communicates business and functional requirements and produces requirements documentation, which includes use case narratives, use case diagrams, functional and non-functional requirements. Ensures that resulting business requirements are thorough and accurate.

o Strong background in software testing, automation tools and scripting languages.

o Develops formal test plans and test cases. This includes writing, maintaining and executing functional, regression, and integration test scripts based on requirements documentation, and develop automation of test cases.

o Validates application functionality and accuracy against test case execution during the QA process.

o Communicates testing results to team members and stakeholders. Helps guide customer, maintain defect log and answer questions during User Acceptance Testing.

o With minimal direction, selects and effectively uses tools that support test plans and test processes.

o Creates, tracks, maintains, and verifies defects via a defect management system.

  • Performs all other duties as assigned.

AGENCY SPECIFIC QUALIFICATIONS:

Minimum Qualifications:

Bachelor's degree in computer science or information systems or proven equivalent work experience, AND three (3) years of systems analysis and/or business analysis experience, AND two (2) or more years' experience in: advanced level use, evaluation and implementation of appropriate tools for requirements elicitation and documentation, quality assurance, integration, user acceptance testing, and additional testing experience with Selenium, TestNG, and Postman AND advanced knowledge of requirements elicitation techniques, business modeling and use case design concepts, information systems, software development life cycles and proficiency in at least one programming language (Java, Python, C++) OR Associates' degree AND nine (9) years of relevant business analysis/information systems experience.

Preferred Qualifications:

Preference will be given to candidates who, demonstrate some or all of the following skills/experience:

  • Eight (8) years of demonstrated experience as a hands-on Quality Assurance Analyst/Specialist with:

o Advanced level experience in software development methodologies, (i.e. Agile, Scrum and Waterfall)

o Experience working in state government.

o Experience in automation testing (i.e. Cucumber and JUNIT)

o Experience working with Jira and Confluence for 2+ years.

COMPENSATION/WORKER TYPE/ADDITIONAL DETAILS:

Hiring Salary: *$70,800.00 - $85,000.00

Worker Type: Hybrid
