Senior QA Engineer

Overview

Job Purpose

The Senior QA Engineer will join ICE Data Services News and Content team in developing solutions to distribute News Headlines and Contributed Content into the ICE Connect platform. The ideal candidate should be a highly motivated individual who is willing to work with business analysts, developers, client services, and end-users to facilitate and understand requirements and impact of changes to assist in testing, debugging, and enhancing ICE Data Service applications. Candidates must also demonstrate strong problem-solving skills, possess the ability to write automated tests, and communicate testing status and strategies to the entire team.

Responsibilities

• Review requirements to assess their impact on software applications and formulate test cases for them

• Write concise and complete test cases and bug reports

• Develop and maintain test cases while performing all testing activities including functional, integration, and regression testing

• Evaluate the application and test cases to be automated. Work with teams to write automation test scripts and create a test suite of automated tests to maximize test coverage

• Identify, isolate, regress, and communicate bugs effectively and efficiently

• Participate in the setup, configuration, and maintenance of software test environments

• Provide release support during production software deployment

• Provide production support of cases raised by client services

Knowledge and Experience

• 6+ years of experience testing applications

• 2+ years of experience writing automated tests using a form of programming or scripting language such as Python, Perl, Bash, Powershell, or Javascript/npm

• Hands-on experience with basic server administration, including configuration of applications as well as starting and stopping services

• Great understanding of Quality Assurance concepts, practices, and tools

• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills

• Experience with source code management tools such as Git

• Experience with mainstream bug tracking tools such as Jira

• Experience with automation tools such as Robot, Selenium, or SauceLabs

• Experience with load testing tools such as JMeter, Benchmark, Postman, or Gatling

• Attention to detail and the ability to work on multiple projects at the same time

Schedule

This role offers work from home flexibility of 1 day per week.
