Location: Preference for this role to be hybrid in the office two days per week in one of our office locations (Charlottesville, VA; Denton TX; Eagan, MN).

The Opportunity

K12 Coalition is looking for an experienced Quality Assurance Analyst to ensure the quality, reliability, and functionality of IT systems, software applications, and technology solutions within K12 Coalition. They will play a critical role in identifying and preventing defects, ensuring compliance with requirements, and improving the overall user experience.

What You'll Do

  • Ability to drive the UAT process to ensure users understand and have clear and concise next steps.

  • Proven ability to handle discussion regarding changes vs defects.

  • Ability to report standard QA metrics from the Jira platform and report on them weekly.

  • Contribute to functional designs, user impact analysis, training plans and materials and communications

  • Pre-screen software problem reports to determine deviation from system specifications

  • Reports software defects

  • Create test plans and appropriate test schedules and ensure all scenarios are covered for functional, integration, and regression testing

  • Support defect management with creation of defects, providing information to app dev on expected outcome and retesting when assigned

  • Develop business functional and technical test plans on integrated systems for managing mechanical production processes, executing the testing of technology systems ensuring quality and efficient systems performance

  • Analyzes business requirements for completeness, testability and develops test plans, test scenarios, test cases, test scripts, test data and will carry out the Quality Assurance testing activities to ensure the applications and products and/or releases follow the Quality Assurance standards of the organization:

  • Providing Quality Assurance services to projects, maintenance activities and taking ownership of the quality of applications while conducting Quality Assurance development processes, developing test solutions, and assisting in the development, implementation, and maintenance of Quality Assurance best practices and testing standards

  • Reviews business requirements, use cases, business scenarios, and design specifications to create test cases. Responsible for Quality Assurance (QA) by analyzing information systems and identifies and documents any quality related issues

  • Apply industry defined development techniques to create and modify IT solutions

  • Develop standards, including measures, metrics, and Key Performance Indicators (KPIs), to accurately assess whether the solutions meet the intended outcomes

  • Ability to produce reports related to defect production/burndown, test case pass/failure rates, and all other QA related metrics.

Qualifications

  • 5+ years' relevant experience working in a comparable software development environment

  • 1+ years' experience performing quality assurance analysis in an Agile development environment

  • Ability to access and pull data from a SQL database

  • Previous experience as a Software Developer, Business Analyst, or Product Owner

  • Recent technical knowledge of eCommerce implementation and security challenges

  • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology or a related business area is preferred

  • Willingness to learn and obtain QA and cloud technology certifications

Compensation range for this position: $95,000-$110,000

As part of our commitment to pay equity, new hires are typically brought into the organization at a salary between the salary band minimum and the salary band midpoint depending on qualifications, location, internal equity, and the budgeted amount for the role.
