Senior PWB Designer

What you'll do:

  • Work in a team environment providing layout and documentation support for Aerospace/RF/Mil-Spec and commercial PCB designs.

  • Tasks may include schematic capture, component placement, trace routing and documentation.

  • Interface with Electrical Engineers, Structural and Thermal Analysts, Materials and Process Control, PWB Fabrication and PWA manufacturing.

  • Maintain a regular and predictable work schedule.

  • Establish and maintain effective working relationships within the department, the Strategic Business Units, Strategic Support Units and the Company. Interact appropriately with others in order to maintain a positive and productive work environment.

  • Perform other duties as necessary.

What you'll need:

  • High School diploma or equivalent and 16 or more years of related experience, or a two-year technical degree with 14 or more years of experience is required.

  • Each higher-level related degree, i.e., Bachelor's or Master's, may substitute for two years of related experience. Degree must be from a university, college, or school which is accredited by an agency recognized by the US Secretary of Education, US Department of Education.

  • Minimum of 8 years PCB design experience utilizing Mentor Expedition or Cadence Allegro ECAD software.

  • Demonstrated proficiency with MS Office tools and Mentor Graphics/Cadence Allegro PCB Design and schematic capture tools, Gerbtool and AutoCAD.

  • Must be familiar with MIL-STD and IPC specifications.

  • Knowledge of GD&T is beneficial.

  • ECAD library part creation beneficial.

  • Must be able to correctly interpret input and work directly on a wide variety of design technologies.

  • Good interpersonal skills.

  • Experience with signal integrity issues, current carrying capabilities, blind and buried via, imbedded passives, microvia and HDI requirements.

Working Conditions:

  • Work is performed in an office environment, laboratory, clean room, or production floor.

  • Travel and local commute between Ball campuses and other possible non-Ball locations may be required.

Maxar is seeking an experienced Sr. Software Engineer to join our Space Infrastructure Software Engineering organization and develop Spacecraft embedded, Ground, and Simulation software in Westminster, CO. This position is responsible for the Software design of technical requirements, design, analyses, implementation, and maintenance of Satellite Software Systems to meet satellite design requirements. The position reports directly to the Manager of Software Development in Westminster, CO. Responsibilities: * Aid in the design and implementation of software applications used in the spacecraft operations domain -- simulators, flight dynamics software, and payload management software. * Design and implement models of spacecraft components and/or subsystems for all-software spacecraft simulators and payload management/test software * Write and perform unit, integration and system-level tests on software applications * Present highly technical material to technical personnel and management * Conduct on-site hardware/software installation and product training Minimum Requirements: * Must be a U.S. Citizen or Permanent Resident * Requires a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Physics, Aerospace, or related field. * Requires 10 years of engineering experience in a Software Engineering discipline (Simulations, Embedded, Ground Software, or other relevant area) * Scientific programming experience in at least a high-level object-oriented language such as Python, C++, or JAVA * Demonstrated knowledge of software revision control systems and workflows (e.g. Git, Subversion, Mercurial) * Demonstrated experience designing and implementing embedded software in an RTOS such as Greenhills Integrity, VxWorks, Linux, or RTEMS. * Proficiency with software compilers and other software development tools * Adapt fluidly to new information, changing constraints, new requirements, and personnel assignments * Able to communicate effectively with internal and external customers, and team members in both oral and written form * Must be willing to travel on occasion Desired Qualifications: * Familiarity with formal Software Development Life Cycle (SLDC) standards and processes such as Capability Maturity Model Integration (CMMI) * Mathematical skills, particularly numerical analysis methods and linear algebra MAXAR Technologies offers a generous compensation package including a competitive salary; choice of medical plan; dental, life, and disability insurance; a 401(K) plan with competitive company match; paid holidays and paid time off.
