This position is located at Central Prison Health Complex in Raleigh, NC.
The position will be responsible for providing direct psychological services at a high level of clinical expertise. The position independently serves as an expert in performing:
Advanced testing, assessment and Treatment of complex behavioral, emotional and learning disorders;
Must be eligible to provide board approved supervision of other psychologists as needed;
Able to recognize expert consultative work within the area of psychological services;
Must be able to confer with administrative, programs, educational, custody personnel as required;
Duties may include providing quality control monitoring, clinical training and applied research as well as coordinating or supervising a small program or sub-unit and/or acting as a lead over professionals other than psychologists.
This is a full-time position (40 hours per week) with State Benefits.

The salary grade for this position is GN17. State employees are encouraged to apply for positions of interest even if the salary grade is the same as, or lower than, their current position.
If selected for this position, a new salary will be recalculated taking into consideration the quantity of relevant education and experience, funding availability, and internal equity. Based upon these factors, a pay increase MAY result.

To qualify for this position, applicants must document on the application that they possess ALL of the following:
Documented knowledge of cause and effects of atypical and disruptive behavior patterns through knowledge principles of therapeutic intervention, including interpretive therapy and behavior modification or curriculum design. (must be documented within the application)
Demonstrated knowledge of projective and objective psychological, educational, and developmental test including those of a complex, comprehensive nature.
Demonstrated skill in the proper application and interpretation of those test, and in preparing and presenting comprehensive and cohesive reports. Skills in relating expressively and dynamically with others.
Management Preference: Candidates with prior experience providing psychological supervision to other Psychologists or Psychological Associates. Minimum Education and Experience Requirements
Eligibility for licensure in North Carolina under the provisions of the NC Psychology Practice Act (G.S. 90-270) and two years of professional psychological experience, one of which must be postdoctoral. Refer to the law for specifics regarding experience requirements.
