Skanska USA Building Inc. (Skanska) is looking for a full-time Senior Proposal Coordinator in Rockville, Maryland. In this job, you'll support our overall sales and marketing efforts by taking on responsibilities including but not limited to:

What You'll Do:

  • Leading, managing, writing and producing proposals, qualifications, award submittals and presentation materials;

  • Interviewing team members and drafting targeted content for proposals and qualifications;

  • Assisting with minor business development efforts;

  • Creating external and internal deliverables containing feature/benefits and other audience-centric content;

  • Mentoring and providing feedback to less senior staff;

  • Maintaining internal partner relationships and resolving day-to-day issues;

  • Conducting external research for local strategic plans and on pursuits as needed;

  • Meeting with Business Development and Marketing team to discuss strategic initiatives;

  • Coordinating proposal needs with Creative Services and Technical Writers;

  • Communicating with team members for project and client information;

  • Attending internal Community Outreach meeting;

  • Updating external brochures with project information in InDesign;

  • Developing a layout for proposal in InDesign and inputting information;

  • Interviewing project team members for value-added information to improve proposal response;

  • Updating resumes and project sheets.

We're Looking For:

  • Four to six years of prior marketing experience in the Architectural, Construction, Engineering (AEC) industry or similar capacity;

  • Bachelor's degree in marketing, communications, journalism or related discipline;

  • Proficiency using Adobe Creative Cloud and Microsoft Office Suite;

  • The ability to multi-task and meet deadlines;

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills;

  • A team player mindset with the ability to work independently;

  • Excellent skills in time management, organizing, writing, proofreading and editing;

  • Understanding of the AEC industry and marketing fundamentals;

  • A willingness to learn and work above and beyond;

  • A collaborative mindset;

  • The ability to think outside the box to find solutions to problems;

  • Determination and dependability.

Position Requirements: * Manage large-scale, complex proposals for government clients across defense and civilian agencies. * Lead proposal processes and create proposal outlines, compliance matrices, proposal schedules and provide leadership and direction to cross-functional teams. * Develop and use in-depth interview techniques for gathering substantive input from Subject Matter Experts (SMEs) and conduct interviews with SMEs in sufficient detail to develop compelling offerings relevant to RFP requirements. * Lead proposal kick-off meetings win theme development, schedule management, compliance oversight, writing instructions and team guidance, review team coordination and production oversight. * Write and edit material for development of proposals, qualifications statements, presentations and other assignments. * Reviews and analyzes solicitations – RFI's, RFP's, and RFQ's * Act with significant autonomy in working with operations personnel and subject matter experts and subcontractors to compile and optimize their proposal contributions. * Perform final quality control review before proposals are delivered to the customer. * Perform in-depth editing of draft responses for clarity, continuity, readability, grammar, punctuation, sentence structure and spelling. * Participate in establishing proposal style guidelines and standards for texts and illustrations. * Provide leadership to teams as well as business, technical, and proposal writing training for potential proposal contributors. * Gather data from all members of the proposal team and assemble it into a master proposal. * Facilitate proposal reviews, dissemination of review comments to section writers, and incorporation of updates into proposal. * Coordinate proposal status tracking, production, and delivery. * Assist in the development of proposal graphics and coordinate graphic creation with graphic designer. * Maintain master solicitation documents. Distribute amendments and updates as needed. Required Qualifications: * A minimum of 2 years' college credits (AA degree) with a Bachelor's Degree highly preferred. * Minimum five years' experience writing proposals to obtain business with the Federal Government. * Proposal Management experience for Federal Government Proposal Development efforts ranging in value from $5M to $30M. * General knowledge of Federal Government contract types (IDIQ, FFP, T&M, CPFF). * Excellent communication skills, both oral and written. * Ability to write non-technical proposal sections effectively and convincingly. * Strong proposal and technical writing skills. * Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Word. * Strong interpersonal relations skills, enthusiastic attitude, and excellent work ethic. * Must be available to work non-standard hours during peak times. * Ability to work under stress with tight schedule deadlines. Desired Qualifications: * Association of Proposal Management Professional (APMP) certification desired. * Experience coordinating/managing industry-recognized proposal process (e.g., Shipley Associates proposal development process). * Skill and experience using graphics software (e.g., Adobe InDesign).
