Project Accounting team acts as finance analyst/controller for key Motorola system implementation projects in Europe and Africa region. We are finance partners to project managers, system engineering team and other members of the project team. This is very visible role with strong commercial exposure. Project analyst will work at most times independently with responsibility for overall project financials.

Key responsibilities:

  • Understand and explain changes in project forecast, provide input to establish regional plans for financial years to come

  • Work with the project manager to ensure that project accounting systems are properly loaded with the award P&L data and that all activities are correct budgeted

  • Monitor activities from other operational organization in relationship to projects (Engineering, Business development, Bid and Quote etc.)

  • Create profit improvement and cost reduction plans that will be continually monitored, processed and updated,

  • Responsible for accurate Profit and Loss accounting

  • Support project teams in all financial questions (first contact for invoicing, tax, and liquidated damages claims etc.),

  • Take part in pre-approving contract variations

  • Derive revenue recognition statement with reference to the contract, Motorola Accounting policies and ensure that this is applied throughout the life of the contract

  • Provide Analysis of the monthly budget performance, investigating any variances during the month end process.

Enterprise Finance & Stakeholder Relations Group Portfolio Management Office (EF&SR GPMO) The EF&SR (GPMO) is aligned to the Enterprise PMO (EPMO) which enhances the ownership, organizational structure, standardization, and oversight of project management functions across the company. The GPMO is a team of seasoned business consultant, program and project professionals who are aligned to support Enterprise Finance and Stakeholder Relations through strategic planning, portfolio, program and project management. Through governance and prioritization, the GPMO enables project investment decisions to be aligned to business goals and strategic priorities. These capabilities enable us to successfully execute against these priorities, by advocating for our business partners, while effectively collaborating with key stakeholders in technology, risk, finance, legal, operations and corporate functions. The Project Management Manager 2 is accountable for building partnerships with Sr. Leaders and their teams, with primary source of contact to understand strategic plans, regulatory, compliance initiatives that may generate programs and projects within the portfolio. Frequent dialogue with sponsors/stakeholders necessary to anticipate changes in support model based on upcoming demand or performance of a project management staff. Must build relationships with partners across Business teams, GPMO, EPMO and other key stakeholders engaged in portfolio management. Accountable for leading the team to successfully execute all activities in a project/program life-cycle (initiation, planning, executing, controlling, and closing) and include non-traditional project roles such as intake, capacity planning, implementation, and requirements documentation. Must promote and adhere to EPMO and GPMO prescribed standards and comply with Enterprise Project Management Policy and Methodology. Significant component performance management / MBOs will align to both compliance with prescribed standards and to excellence in project and program delivery. Accountable for enforcement of the enterprise project management policy and related methodology, project standards, enterprise tools and conducting post implementation reviews. Govern and optimize project management related talent management activities including sourcing, recruiting, and talent development. Contributes in transformation to change delivery management, including guiding business and team through Agile Transformation. Key stakeholder to partner, influence and advocate change within EPMO/GPMO organization, accountable for ensuring team members and business leaders are represented, educated and informed in partnership with the GPMO Shared Services organization.
