Senior Project Planner

Key Activities and Accountabilities

Determine overall duration of project(s) and when activities and events are planned to happen.

Identify activities and their logical dependencies, and estimate activity durations, taking into account requirements and availability of resources.

Define and sequence activities and / or work packages taking into account any dependencies.

Create project schedules, based on the agreed Scope of Supply drawing and using, where they exist, previously approved SSPL templates.

Apply estimates of effort and duration considering resource constraints.

Identify major phases, milestones and appropriate reviews / gateway points, and schedule the project(s) to determine critical path, as appropriate, considering any points of risk for updating of the risk register, as appropriate.

Compare target, planned and actual dates, and discuss corrective actions or update forecasts with the Project Manager, as necessary.

Regularly update schedule with actuals and estimates to complete and reschedule to determine whether target date remains viable and check for any changes to the critical path.

Raise ‘out of tolerance’ issues with Project Manager for PM to escalate to Project Sponsor, as required.

Maintain project schedule(s) with respect to changes.

Chair meetings with management regards to potential future projects and resource constraints

Create resource histograms and raise issues when considering Expro’s programme of work

Administration of the primavera database with regards to creating new accounts, assigning access to different departments, creating new nodes.

Focal point for Energy XXI Gulf Coast, Inc. oracle support liaising with IT and other planners

Assist with any upgrades and associated workload with moving between database versions.  Liaising with other planners to facilitate this.

Mentoring less experienced planners within the department

Requirements

Job Knowledge and Qualifications

Extensive experience of planning / scheduling

Ideally, previous experience of project work within an oil and gas medium to heavy engineering environment

Ability to use Primavera at an advanced level. Experience with Primavera risk analysis an advantage.’
