Job Description

The Senior Project Manager provides the overall planning, coordination, and direction for project management activities to ensure they meet owner needs, specifications, cost, and schedule, from initial project identification through construction closeout. May supervise office/field administrative staff, project/field engineers, assistant project/construction managers, project/construction managers and other assigned staff. The Senior Project Manager will serve a client in the education sector. This position must manage multi-prime construction management projects for the school district.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

  • Primary contact and liaison for owner and principle partner entities for the contract, design, systems, procedures and related deliverables

  • Develops project specific procedures and documentation, and consults with Owner on design and construction contracts and related A/E systems for the project

  • Ensures contracts, drawings, estimates, and specifications comply with construction/project requirements

  • Obtains, maintains, and manages data, information, communications, and approvals required by project and company requirements between owner, architects, engineers, and other project-related entities

  • Represents owner, project and related parties in public forums and meetings

  • Manages project controls, cost, and performance activities and procedures, project logistics, organization, systems and project closeout

  • Leads in project meetings to include documentation, administration, and tracking of relevant information and statuses

  • Coordinates, directs, and monitors activities of construction management staff, contractors, engineers, architects, and related performing entities

  • Ensures project team adheres to safety requirements

  • Manages bid phase services, as may be required by the client

  • Performs other duties as required

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, Construction Management, Architecture, or equivalent is preferred

  • Bachelor's Degree is required if candidate does not posess at least 8 years of experience in the industry

  • 20 years of experience as a Project Manager or Construction Manager is required

  • School construction experience is required

  • Advanced knowledge and application of master planning, A/E solicitation, project development, design-phase management, construction estimating, cost, project controls/scheduling, documentation, engineering/construction principles, contracts and delivery methods are required

  • Thorough understanding of contracts, documents, drawings, and specifications and applied experience in the areas of project accounting, cost, administrative, and personnel interaction in professional settings are required

  • Strong computer skills and familiarity with Microsoft Office Suite products, and experience with project-related systems such as Prolog and Primavera are required

  • Proficiency with various document control systems, as well as new construction and modernization of K-12 schools is preferred

  • Registration as an Architect or Professional Engineer is preferred

  • Certified Construction Manager preferred

Job Duties: Define performance metrics for evaluation of supply chain factors, such as product cost and quality with respect to budgetary considerations. Conduct one on one working sessions with various supply chain stakeholders to identify issues and pain points in their department with a key emphasis on factors such as cycle time, cost, quality, and operating efficiency. Develop and execute detailed project plans highlighting key milestones as part of bug fixes, feature enhancements, rollout of supply chain solutions into new delivery centers and procurement of hardware such as RF scanners, printers and delivery tracking devices. Manage processes related to strategic purchasing, material requirements planning, controlling inventory and receiving. Implement projects using both waterfall and agile methodologies. Communicate project status updates to various project stakeholders, including team members and key leadership in an effective and efficient manner. Conduct regular meetings with customer service, warehousing operations and transportation teams to ensure that standard operating procedures for various operations such as customer delivery scheduling process, shipment loading and unloading process, deluxing and medic valued added services process and transportation routing process are updated as and when corresponding changes occur to day to day operations. Minimum Requirements: Master's degree, or foreign equivalent, in Supply Chain Management, Business, or closely related discipline and one (1) year of experience in the job offered or one (1) year of experience in the field of supply chain management; OR Bachelor's degree, or foreign equivalent, in Supply Chain Management, Business, or closely related discipline and five (5) years of experience in the job offered or five (5) years of progressively responsible experience in the field of supply chain management.
