Senior Project Manager

Lead bleeding edge technical projects for clients that are on the frontier of IT transformation!

A key customer-facing role in daily operations related to Professional Services and delivery of associated services. The Senior Project Manager may occasionally simultaneously leads multiple IT infrastructure projects, as well as leading a team of Project Mangers in the delivery of large complex engagements. The Senior Project Manager will lead the project lifecycle including but not limited to; coordinating resources, maintaining project data and documentation, approval of timesheets, budget and schedule monitoring, issues resolution, and change management.

This role will also provide leadership in the PMO by becoming a contributor to the Project Management and Solution Delivery Frameworks, strongly adhering to the guidelines, and able to set an example for and coach/mentor new Project Managers.

As our Senior Project Manager, you'll:

  • Be responsible for the proper maintenance and storage of project documentation and deliverables

  • Be responsible for maintaining project information within the Softchoice PSA tool

  • Complete assigned Peer Reviews in order to ensure Statement of Work accuracy (For project management detail)

  • Schedule and conduct internal and customer facing project kick off calls

  • Maintain accurate schedules for assigned project resources

  • Ensure vendor funding requirements are communicated and completed

  • Create detailed WBS and project schedules

  • Be responsible for gathering communication requirements and maintaining effective communication between customers, Sales, Enterprise Architecture team, and technical subject matter experts through all phases of the customer engagement

  • Ensure quality delivery of services and take action to correct any delivery issues related to Service Proposal and/or SOW as necessary to ensure customer satisfaction

  • Coordinate and conduct regular project status meetings; capturing and distributing meeting minutes to the project team, customer, and Sales

  • Perform Risk Management; evaluating impact and planning response strategies

  • Complete project change requests (PCRs) to manage project variances related to scope, schedule or budget

  • Facilitate acceptance of project deliverables and administrative closure of the project

  • Participate in monthly PMO Practice meetings and seek continued development and growth of Project Management skills

As our ideal candidate you'll have:

  • Comfortable working in a fast paced environment and competing tasks under a strict time constraint

  • Experience working in team-oriented, collaborative environment

  • Ability to manage several projects of varying size and technology at one time

  • Experience leading a team of multiple Project Managers an asset

  • Practical knowledge of services delivery and IT consulting

  • Strong client focus and relationship management skills

  • Working knowledge of service delivery concepts, processes, and procedures as well as ability to enhance and manage continuous process improvement

  • Flexible to travel and work occasional evenings/weekends to meet project requirements

As our ideal candidate you'll also have:

  • Post-Secondary Degree

  • PMP certification or equivalent education an asset

  • ITIL certification an asset

  • 8+ years of experience in professional services or consulting environment

  • Proficiency with MS Office Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Project

  • Technical knowledge (200 level) of Microsoft O365, Microsoft Azure, Cisco networking, UC, or datacenter technologies an asset

Projects should be delivered to budget, schedule, agreed specification, meeting Fishawack KPIs whilst achieving client objectives and surpassing their expectations. </p><p><br></p><p><strong>JOB RESPONSIBILITIES</strong></p><p><span style="color: black;"> </span></p><p><span style="color: black;">The primary responsibility of a Senior Project Manager is, whilst working with a high degree of self-sufficiency on more complex projects, to manage all aspects of assigned accounts from a project management and financial perspective </span>ensuring successful planning, management, execution and outcome. The range of tasks which a senior project manager may be asked to do includes but is not limited to budget development and reconciliation, updating eSource, timeline development, providing financial information, invoicing, tracking and phasing projects, traffic management, updating status sheets, participating and where necessary, leading client status calls.</p><p> </p><p>As part of this role, the Senior Project Manager should be able to independently manage projects and accounts while further developing their experience by working on complex projects and accounts across different pharmaceutical companies. </p><p> </p><p>The Senior Project Manager role is client facing and serves as a contact for clients and other agencies, including logistics agencies, audiovisual technicians, etc. The Senior Project Manager actively drives timelines and acts as an internal information hub for the account. They should lead internal status meetings and client status calls and regularly communicate with and update other team members whilst flagging any concerns in a timely manner.</p><p> </p><p>Senior Project Managers should communicate confidently on core tasks, have strong financial management skills and a comprehensive understanding of project management processes and eSource functionality. Commensurate with their experience, they may mentor project coordinators or project managers, but this is not a prerequisite. </p><p> </p><p>They should be able to demonstrate effective working relationships with Client Service and Editorial leads and, if required, shared services to meet team objectives and support the team by liaising with internal stakeholders to prioritize workload, participating in team meetings and brainstorms, providing project feedback and input into action plans as required.
