Position Summary
This position is responsible for managing and delivering results in support of MFA operational needs for high-profile organizational project priorities. The ideal candidate demonstrates initiative, brings maturity, experience, and mentorship to problem-solving, and possesses excellent written and verbal communication skills. Candidate possesses a willingness to provide advanced-level project management ability, skills, and experience to get the job done through data-driven and empirical decision-making, including stakeholder data collection, performed through detailed meetings and discussions, departmental and clinic observations, interviews, and reporting. This person is able to define and drive a project from concept through implementation, coming up to speed in new content areas quickly and leveraging available resources, as needed.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities: To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. Other related duties may be assigned.
Directs and manages other PMO team members in their work assignments and skills enhancements
Trains and mentors team members; supports their growth and professional development
Provides necessary support and backs-up to Director on key PMO initiatives and management coverage.
Quality Reviews work of other PMO team members, including reviewing work product, project timelines, and stepping in as necessary
Reviews projects to assure compliance with federal regulations, departmental guidelines, or funding requirements. Reports project status to appropriate personnel.
Acts as liaison between departments or agencies to facilitate workflow.
Performs research to collect, observe, analyze and present substantive information for MFA operational projects.
Identifies key project stakeholders, schedules and holds kick-off meetings, takes notes, and documents action items for follow-up.
Coordinates weekly/monthly project status meetings as deemed necessary. Provides presentation deliverables as required by circumstances.
Engages stakeholders in various communication approaches, including setting up and populating Share Point sites, sending emails and notifications, coordinating and leading in-person and virtual meetings, and drafting and reporting to meeting participants.
Qualifications
Education
College degree in Business or a related field
Active PMP Certification
Experience
A minimum of 3 years dealing with senior-level change management
Strong understanding of healthcare operational needs and related systems interfaces
Working knowledge of George Washington medical community and its affiliates is preferred
Experience in a project management or consulting role preferred
