THE ROLE: Senior Project Manager

Project Managers are responsible for delivering technology projects on time and on budget with a focus on delivering excellence by demonstrating leadership, strong client and team trust, solid project management core skills, and the ability to handle all the administrative aspects of a project. In addition to client-focused project delivery, Senior Project Managers have the opportunity to support the service group through involvement in process improvement activities.

Job Summary:

  • Purpose: The Senior Project Manager is a position that leads Presidio's highly skilled engineers to deliver a variety of technology projects for our customers.

  • Scope: You will join our team as a member of the Program and Project Management (PPM) Services group. You will be responsible for successfully managing project outcomes, client interaction and expectations, budgets and billing, and all relevant project artifacts including detailed project plans. Project Managers will be assigned multiple projects of varying size and scope.

Responsibilities:

  • Lead multiple projects of varying size, scope and duration

  • Establish strong client relations and manage interaction and expectations throughout the life of the project

  • Create detailed project plans, status reports and manage issues, risks, and actions

  • Manage communication, scope and mitigates risk across projects

  • Manage Project budget and billing

  • Partner across functional teams to deliver the best possible solution for a client

  • Lead client-facing meetings regularly during key phases of the project

  • Continually seek and capitalizes upon opportunities to increase customer satisfaction and deepen client relationships

  • Service as the escalation point person for the customer, delivery and other associated Presidio teams and vendor partners

Required Skills:

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience and/or military experience

  • Minimum of 8+ years' experience as a hands-on Project Manager managing technical VAR implementation projects and having customer facing experiences or equivalent experience in an IT organization

  • Demonstrated ability to plan, organize and successfully drive projects to meet defined budgets and timelines.

  • Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously

  • Experience managing project financials and scheduling internal resources

  • Strong verbal, written communication and presentation skills

Preferred Skills:

  • Proficient in MS Project is preferred
  • PMP knowledge (certification preferred)
  • ITIL knowledge (certification preferred)

Capital Projects Leadership: Lead the development and approval process for Capital Expenditure Requests. Lead the oversight and management of Capital projects and procurements including the coordination of the Facilities & IT requirements for planned capital funding. Interface with the Facility Project Manager and IT Project Manager to ensure that they have received all program requirements. IT Projects Coordination and Execution: Responsible to work in coordination with IT managers at each site, Valley Forge and Hill Air Force Base locations, to establish a program management process (time-phased, budgetized schedule, risk & opportunity management, etc) for ongoing and future IT projects. These projects primarily consist of conceptualization, documentation, and approval of secure networks internal and external to the organization. Facilities Projects Coordination and Execution: Responsible to work in coordination with the site, Valley Forge and Hill Air Force Base locations, facilities lead to establish a program management process (time-phased budgetized schedule, risk & opportunity management, etc) for ongoing and future facilities projects. These projects primarily consist of design, documentation, and execution of secure workspaces, and other building modifications to support program and Strategic Reentry initiatives. Basic Qualifications: • Bachelor's degree from an accredited college in Engineering or a related discipline, or equivalent experience/combined education. • Prior leadership experience (formal or informal). • Experience interfacing directly with government customers. • Strong interpersonal, communication, and presentation skills. • Experience in managing projects (budget, schedule, etc.). • Must be a US Citizen with an Active DoD Secret Clearance. • Ability to work on-site and travel up to 25% Desired Skills: • Prior experience managing NWRM. • Prior experience with Air Force ICBM Systems Programs customers. • Prior experience with Navy Strategic Systems Programs customers. • Ability to manage, coach, train and motivate a team. • Experience with government audits. • Experience managing Facility and IT projects.
