Senior Project Manager

Perspecta has an immediate need for a Senior Project Manager in Washington, DC.

  • Responsible for all aspects of the development and implementation of assigned projects and provide a single point of contact for those projects.

  • From original concept, takes projects through final implementation.

  • Interface with all areas affected by the project, including end users, computer services and client services.

  • Define project scope and objectives.

  • Develop detailed work plans, schedules, project estimates, resource plans and status reports.

  • Conduct project meetings and is responsible for project tracking and analysis.

  • Ensure adherence to quality standards and review project deliverables.

  • Manage the integration of vendor tasks and track and review vendor deliverables.

  • Provide technical and analytical guidance to project team.

  • Recommend and take action to direct the analysis and solutions of problems.

  • Perform all functional duties independently.

  • Work on high-visibility programs or mission critical aspects of assigned program(s).

  • Oversee the efforts of direct reporting resources and/or is responsible for the efforts of all staff assigned to a specific job.

Qualifications

Required:

A degree from an accredited College/University in Software Engineering, Computer Science or related discipline is preferred.

  • A minimum of ten (10) years' experience in project management or related field, preferably in the area of software application development and/or related field.

  • Project Management Professional (PMP) certification preferred.

  • Ability to perform all functional duties independently on high-visibility programs or mission critical aspects of a given program.

  • Oversee the efforts of direct reporting resources and/or be responsible for the efforts of all staff assigned to a specific job.

  • Experience training/mentoring less experienced personnel.

  • Broad knowledge of project management disciplines as outlined in the Project Management Body of Knowledge.

  • Extensive experience with managing software application development projects of various sizes, including client interaction and meeting facilitation.

  • Solid experience defining project scope, developing work plans and project schedules, preparing project estimates, developing resource plans and compiling project status reports.

  • Extensive experience managing heterogeneous project teams composed of resources from multiple vendors/organizations.

  • Considerable experience reviewing software documentation such as requirements specifications, design documents, manuals, test plans/cases, test scripts and test reports.

  • Excellent communication skills.

This position requires United States Citizenship, or a valid Green Card/ have lived in the US for the past 5 years and eligibility to apply for/obtain a permanent Postal Clearance.

  • Candidate cannot have more than 6 months' travel outside the United States within the last five years, military service excepted. (Exception does not include military family members.)

Required Qualifications: * Public Trust (Active Secret Clearance preferred) * DHS EOD Eligible (Active EOD preferred) * Bachelor's degree or equivalent, and fifteen years of related work experience * Project Management – experience managing and leading teams * Detail oriented – must be able to recognize critical elements of successful engineering operations and hold themselves and their teams accountable for meeting those critical elements * Flexible – The environment is highly dynamic.
