The Senior Project Manager is responsible for leading the East Retail PMO and project teams to deliver project(s) that span across NRG business units (e.g. Operations, IT, Marketing, Sales, Customer Service, etc.). The ideal candidate will have proven experience managing resources, schedules, and financials and will adhere to stage gate quality and SDLC control guidelines throughout the full systems development life cycle.
This role will be responsible for the management of issues, risks and project change requests to ensure successful and on-time project delivery, and will contribute to process improvement initiatives as it relates to improving project delivery. The ideal candidate will possess strong strategic thinking, problem-solving, communication and analytical skills and will thrive working in a fast-paced, collaborative, entrepreneurial environment.
Duties and Responsibilities
Manage a portfolio of complex initiatives that span one or multiple lines of business representing a balanced understanding of business needs and technical capabilities
Manage all aspects of multiple related projects to ensure the overall program is aligned to and directly supports the achievement of strategic objectives
Provide multi-site leadership for project teams by building and motivating team members to meet project goals, adhering to their responsibilities and project milestones
Manage overall delivery of project across all functions including requirements gathering and project approval, design, build/customization, integration, and testing
Manage requirements and project approval process, including obtaining sign-off from all business lines and overseeing the change management process for tracking changes, once sign-off has been completed.
Identify, assess impact, and resolve project issues and conflicts with management and/or project team
Develop and deliver progress reports, proposals, requirements documentation and presentations to various audiences, including project team, sponsors, key stakeholders, and the executive leadership team.
Participate in establishing practices, templates, policies, tools and partnerships to expand and mature these capabilities for the organization
Maintains and develops staff by recruiting, selecting, orienting, and training employees in multiple offices
Monitor staff performance and complete performance reviews

Bachelor's degree required
Minimum of 5 years of Project Management/Strategic Planning experience, working on a variety of projects throughout the various corporate area of responsibilities
Must have previous supervisory and/or leadership experience
Must have previous experience in SDLC Methodologies, Agile and SCRUM
Must have previous experience with JIRA, Plainview, MS Project & Office, SharePoint, SQL
Must be willing to travel overnight, up to 50%
Previous Retail Energy Experience
Previous experience working on technology integration projects
