Humana's Claims Process Organization is looking for a Senior Project Manager to join the Project Management team! As the Senior Project Manager you will manage all aspects of a project, from start to finish, to ensure it is completed on time and within budget. You will primarily support Medicaid state implementations.


As a Senior Project Manager you will design, communicate and implement an operational plan for completing the project, monitor progress and performance against the project plan, take action to resolve operational problems and minimize delays. In this role you will also identify, develop and gather the resources to complete the project. You will prepare requirements and develop project schedules as well as communicate with project teams, leaders and other operational areas in the organization to secure specialized resources and contributions for the project.

Key Role Functions

  • Oversee project teams in an indirect reporting relationship and manage conflicts within groups

  • Efficiently identify and solve project issues and embody and demonstrate strong leadership qualities

  • Prepare resource and capacity planning at the program and project level

  • Lead teams in understanding and defining requirements related to project risk

  • Design and maintain project documentation

  • Have a range of subject matter expertise relative to both PPS and Humana as well as Medicaid implementations

  • Champion the stakeholder's/business owner's needs and goals during the project

  • Act as an advocate for all leaders within PPS, working closely with senior leaders and IT partners to ensure project estimations, creation of CBAs, understanding of return on investment/project prioritization, and securing of funding

  • Conduct meetings and prepare reports to communicate the status of the project

  • Set priorities, allocate tasks, and coordinate project staff to meet project targets and milestones

  • Be a voice of the PPS and an advocate for the Project Management team and the impacted business areas

While this role 100% remote, candidates that reside within 50 miles of Louisville, KY may be expected to be in office as needed once CDC restrictions are lifted. All others will remain 100% virtual/remote.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent related work experience

  • 3+ years of progressive experience managing large scale projects

  • Proficient in MS Office Products (Outlook, Lync, Word, PowerPoint, Excel)

  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal

  • Strong collaboration and facilitation skills

  • Strong time management skills

  • Strong analytical and reasoning skills

  • Must be passionate about contributing to an organization focused on continuously improving consumer experience

Work at Home/Remote Requirements

  • Must ensure designated work area is free from distractions during work hours and virtual meetings

  • Must provide a high-speed DSL or cable modem for a workspace (Satellite and Hotspots are prohibited). A minimum standard speed of 10x1 (10mbs download x 1mbs upload) for optimal performance of is required

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with Medicaid state implementations

  • Bachelor's Degree in Finance, Accounting, Business or related field

  • PMP and/or Six Sigma certification

  • Project Management Institute certification

  • Progressive experience managing portfolios of similar or dependent projects

  • Proven ability to understand capacity and effectively plan resourcing

  • Proven ability to understand cost benefit analysis and return on investment

  • Working knowledge of ServiceNow (business and IT perspective), Azure Boards, and qTest

Additional information

  • Schedule: Monday through Friday, 8 AM to 5 PM. Time zone may alter the schedule depending on needs of the work. Overtime can be expected periodically, with some during weekend release turns.

  • Training: On-boarding with the team and an overview of how we handle our projects. The expectation is that there will be limited training needed for this position.

  • Travel: 5%

Responsibilities Humana is seeking a Senior Network Engineer who will deliver solutions for the future underlay fabric for the enterprise. This is an exciting opportunity for forward-looking technology leaders to make key contributions to the evolution and transformation of the company's networks toward next-generation technologies. This is a critical role within Humana's IT organization responsible for the engineering and design, planning, implementation, and establishment of operational and maintenance programs to deliver best-in-class next generation network infrastructure. This includes optimizing all aspects of network eco-system, including performance, resiliency, availability, resource utilization and innovation. This person will provide network design, engineering and administrative support of both physical and virtual networking devices within our SDI environments. This person will be responsible for leveraging state-of-the-art networking technologies, including virtualization and software-defined networking (SDN), to develop and deliver a robust, scalable, network eco-system. He/she will work with various leaders across the enterprise to coordinate network solutions to meet challenges of technology, regulatory, security, and competitive conditions. The scope will include the following areas of concentration: * IPAM Governance * Design/Deploy DNS solutions in the Infoblox and BloxOne platforms * Assisting in planning of new LAN/WAN network infrastructure and connectivity for managed services environments * Support the elimination of existing datacenter dependencies to enable cloud/fastest-path access (i.e. VPN, Web Proxy, etc...) * Connectivity solutions for supporting a hybrid cloud strategy; * Remote site and campus network technology to support SDWAN and SD-LAN implementations; * WAN circuit topology and telco/carrier technical integration; * Remote user network end-point technology.
