Job Description

Overview:
McDonald's is undergoing a technology-led transformation, and the Global Technology PMO is at the center of this bold change at McDonald's! Our primary purpose is to ensure operational excellence and drive growth for McDonald's through technology. The team actively supports the implementation of key critical initiatives across the global organization.Under general direction of a PMO Director, Portfolio Manager, Initiative Leader, or business leader, the Senior Project Manager leads and leads high-priority / very complex projects, which often require considerable resources and high levels of functional integration, with adherence to quality, deadline and budget standards!Primary Duties:Lead execution of tasks to achieve the project goal.Lead changes to the project scope, schedule, and costs using appropriate verification techniques to keep the project plan accurate.Measure project performance using appropriate tools and techniques in order to supervise the progress of the project, identify and quantify any variances, perform any required corrective actions, and communicate to all partners.Align partners and team members by ensuring a common understanding of project plan expectations.May be responsible for managing/ recording detailed customer requirements, constraints, and assumptions with partners to establish the project results, using requirement-gathering techniques (e.g., planning sessions, brainstorming, focus groups) and the project charter.Work to implement approved actions and workarounds to mitigate risks

Improve team performance by leading, mentoring, and training, and communicating effectively. Treat people well.Document high-level risks, assumptions, and constraints using historical data and experienced judgment to understand project limitations.Lead key findings from project retrospectives.May serve as backup to the Program Manager.Act as a mentor leading others with the adoption of PMO processes and standards.Have experience doing the following:Defining project roles, responsibilities, methodology, and tools.Providing input on delivery model and standard methodologies.Supporting, leading, or ensuring the standardization of processes for implementing projects across all clients, in accordance with standard methodologies.Identifying, and/or elevating ideas for improving the delivery model offer and methodologies.Main areas of focus and the approximate time spent on each is as follows:Project Leadership, Planning and Execution of high-priority projects

Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications:
Demonstrate and Educate as a Deep Subject Matter Expert (SME) in Project Management process and tools.Mentor client team(s) on effective consulting for projects.Experience communicating effectively with management and direct client contact.Experience with software methodology development processes.Ability to build presentations and write business cases for senior leadership.Ability to work under tight deadlines leading multiple key business priorities.Project budgeting/costing expertise.Ability to solve very complex problems in a variety of work situations.Proficiency with MS Office and common Project and Portfolio Management (PPM) software.Solid understanding of technology solutions.Highly qualified with dev/ops principles.Motivational leadership skills.Minimum of 6 years experience in prior corporate and global project management required.Bachelor's degree in related field required: Project Management Professional (PMP) preferred; Agile Certifications preferred (e.g. PSM, CSM, etc.)

These projects generally include those that are in a solutioned state / pre-start-up mode, pre-implementation phase or are in progress (either in transition or steady-state). This role ensures projects align with the business strategy and deliver on time, boosting productivity and scalability while improving profitability. Key Responsibilities The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required. The Senior Project Manager is primarily responsible for: * Manage the day to day operational activities of large-scale, high budget projects across various internal functional departments within nfrastructure. * Responsible for a successful delivery in a matrix resource environment for all of the project deliverables. * Set and continually manage project expectations with team members and other stakeholders, including the customer project manager, through regular and proactively scheduled meetings. * Manage project activities through the effective use of project management principles and the specific methodologies adopted by the PMI and nfrastructure to achieve timely project completion and meet the defined project business objectives. * Develop and execute project plans for major nfrastructure initiatives, in a matrix capacity with project team members throughout the organization. * Present recommendations for effective consensus decision making, taking into consideration risk analysis and impact assessment for project milestones. * Develop project resource and cost estimates. * Monitor actual project expenditures against project estimates and budgets. * Provide accurate and timely budget reporting. * Meet or exceed project budget profit targets. * Maintain effective communication and coordination with the project sponsor/business owner to ensure that business objectives are met and any changes are clearly communicated. * Communicate effectively with project team members, senior management and other managers whose staff are involved in projects. * Conform to customer service level agreements (SLA's) to ensure decreased liability and penalties for not meeting SLA requirements. * Use advanced technical knowledge to perform and apply new technical procedures. * Provide technical direction, guidance and support to Associate Project Managers and Project Coordinators. * Lead and Manage teams of multi skilled resources to ensure goals and deliverables for the projects are being met and or exceeded * Recommend and implement improvements to existing technical procedures based on understanding of new technologies. * Other duties as assigned We are seeking candidates with the following experience and skills: Education: Bachelor's Degree and a minimum of 10 years project management experience with at least three years managing large, complex IT projects which demonstrate a broad and deep understanding of complex business processes, multiple platforms and language technologies and financial management. A minimum of ten years of hands-on large-scale project management experience will be considered to replace the educational requirement.
