Marcum LLP is currently looking for a Senior Project Manager, to join their internal IT department and support projects related to transformation within the firm. The ideal candidate should have a minimum of 5 years of experience of true project management experience, using project tracking tools and a variety of project management methodologies, including Agile, on large, complex and high-budget projects, using onshore and offshore resources in multiple locations.

The Sr. PM will manage projects focused on applications and software used by the firm, from the "build vs Buy" Analysis, to all other pre and post integration, implementation, and deployment phases.

Requirements:

  • 5+ years of true PM experience, including creating project plans and schedules, tracking project progress, and identifying and mitigating risks.

  • Experience managing and delivering on time and on budget. multiple large, high-budget, complex projects related to application and software.

  • Experience using a variety of PM methodologies, including Agile. Scrum/certifications are a plus.

  • Hands on experience using project planning tools, such as MS Project. Smartsheet is a plus.

  • Managing projects with onshore and offshore resources in multiple locations.

  • The ability to lead and motivate large project teams and stakeholders.

  • Professional level verbal and written communication skills and the ability to present to C-level executives and the staff using the applications.

  • Proven experience in team building, change management and process management.

Preferred Requirements:

  • PMP certification or equivalent strongly desired

  • Professional services experience is preferred.

  • An understanding of accounting principles and terminology. Any knowledge of tax/audit or operation applications is a huge plus.

  • Experience managing projects and integrations due to Merger and Acquisition.

  • A Bachelor's degree or Master's degree.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Successfully manage and deliver large, high-budget, complex projects related to tax/audit/accounting services transformation technology initiatives on time and within budget.

  • Identify and schedule project deliverables, milestones, and required activities and tasks in a project plan.

  • Perform risk assessment and implement mitigation plans.

  • Provide leadership and motivation to project team members throughout the project life cycle and collaborate with project staff to outline work plan.

  • Implement and oversee project communication plans.

  • Maintain appropriate level of communication with executives, internal colleagues, and external stakeholders.

  • Direct and coordinate activities of all parties involved in the project to ensure that the project progresses on time and within budget.

  • Accurately forecast project expenses, manage actuals within an appropriate variance of project budget, and coordinate with financial teams on budget.

  • Prepare status reports along-side project team and modify schedules or plans as required.

  • Continuously benchmark project management performance to identify improvements and achieve higher capability maturity in project and portfolio management.

  • Work with 3rd party vendors, manage 3rd party resources, and manage 3rd party contractual and financial deliverables.

  • Manage multiple projects at a time, including those that may be assigned outside of the transformation program.

Travel Requirements:

  • Ability to travel minimally.
