Mailgun is looking for a Senior Project Manager to join our Business Operations department. The primary goal of the Business Operations department is to facilitate outcomes that customers will find to be valuable to consume and that Mailgunners will find to find to be extremely rewarding to build. The Senior Project Manager role will help us achieve this goal by coordinating key initiatives among Mailgunners of all levels (front-line to C-level) and strategic third-party vendors. Responsibilities include building consensus on key priorities, identifying the metrics to be used to track value creation, and consistently report on actual vs estimated progress.


  • Be responsible for multiple large projects in a fast-growing, startup environment where scope is subject to change and there is a high degree of risk
  • Consistently provide audience-appropriate reports, presentations, and documentation
  • Own change management throughout the lifecycle of the projects
  • Meet budgetary objectives and make adjustments to project constraints based on financial analytics


  • 5+ years of progressive IT project management required
  • Experience implementing or optimizing quote-to-cash processes
  • Experience implementing or optimizing CRM systems
  • College degree or PMP certification
  • Experience presenting to senior leadership and executive team
  • Ability to work independently and be self-sufficient


  • Lean Six Sigma certification
  • Prior experience as business analyst

VIEW JOBS 12/30/2018 12:00:00 AM 2019-03-30T00:00 Job Summary Under general direction, is responsible for planning, developing, and implementing project efforts that utilize solutions for one or more medium to large-sized, moderate to highly complex projects. May exercise functional supervision over assigned staff. This position is an "unclassified" position and has no disciplinary appeal rights to the Municipal Civil Service Commission. This position is likewise subject to at-will employment status and can be terminated at any time for any reason. Essential Job Functions * Manages the design, development, and implementation of projects to include, but not limited to gathering and defining the project requirements; obtains staffing requirements; and forms projected teams. * Develops methods, procedures, and quality objectives including metrics for assessing progress; utilizes established project standards, procedures, and quality objectives. * Conducts project kickoff meetings; communicates individual roles and project expectations; ensures all project team members have the tools and training required to perform effectively. * Develops detailed project plans and schedules. * Provides work direction and leadership to assigned projects, including scheduling, assignment of work, and review of project efforts. * Monitors project milestones and critical dates to identify potential risk to of project schedule; identifies ways to resolve schedule issues; keeps management current on any changes. * Assesses variances from the project plans; gathers metrics, and develops and implements changes as necessary to ensure that the project remains within specified scope and is within time, cost, and quality objectives. * Conducts formal quality assurance reviews with business sponsor during and upon project completion to confirm acceptance and satisfaction. * Provides the team with constructive feedback as it pertains to project performance. * Develops and maintains a productive working relationship with project sponsors, project team members, and vendors. * Interviews, selects, supervises, develops and if necessary, counsels personnel according to established COSA policies, procedures, and guidelines. * Performs related duties and fulfills responsibilities as required. Job Requirements * Bachelor's Degree from an accredited college or university. * Four (4) years of progressively responsible work experience in managing projects. * Project Management Professional Certification. * Must pass the Transportation Security Administration (TSA) mandated background checks (Criminal History Records Check and Security Threat Assessment). * Maintain federally mandated security clearance required to work at an airport. PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS: * Architecture, Engineer or Construction Management degree strongly preferred. * Contract construction management experience is a must. * Experience working in the field of Aviation. * Airport planning, design and construction experience. * Familiarity with FAA policies and procedures as it relates to airport construction. * Knowledge of MS Office Suite programs, including MS Project. * Knowledge of AutoCAD, REVIT or other similar software. * Knowledge of current building codes (2018 IBC).
